Oddity in tonight's Braves Game:

The Braves are playing the Marlins tonight and Miami has former American League Batting Champs playing shortstop (Tim Anderson) & second base (Luis Arraez).


Of course, Arraez also won the National League crown last year.


By the way, is it just me that thinks League Batting Championships don't mean as much now that there is so much 'inter-league' play?

Yes the "new" balanced schedule sucks. I don't mind the interleague play but absolutely hate the BS of playing teams in their division WAY TOO many times. I used to get to see the Yankees and Red Sox multiple times a year play in Minnesota. Now you can watch the Twins play Kansas City every other fricken week.

The balanced schedule that started last year actually reduced the number of series played by teams in the same division from 6 to 4. It also decreased the number of series played by teams in different divisions in the same league from 4 to 2 so that teams could then play a series against every team in the other league.

I am still mad about the 2001 unbalanced schedule change. So I have had the same complaint for a couple decades.

The central division has never been great so you have a few not so great teams playing each other all the time. The Twins are by far the closest team for me to go watch so it sucks the "good" teams only come once a year.
