Default Champ Osteen - Opinions please

Champ Osteen is written all over the back of this photo once owned by Champ. I was hopeful I had his autograph until I saw his draft registration. Based on the 'X'
I believe he was unable to sign his name. Still, the handwriting seems to match on the photo and draft document. Now I'm thinking all of this was in the hand of his wife Minnie. Thoughts?

Default Champ Osteen

Champ was able to read and write and was educated. He was a student and played baseball for Erskine College in 1900.

That makes sense. I forgot about his time at Erskine. I still wonder why the X on his draft reg?

Default Opinion Please

I know this is an old post. Hope you're still around. My opinion and my wife's opinion is that this is his signature. Champ is my wife's Great-Grandfather.
