We all knew that burnt umber was a color, but how many of us realized that burnt orange was?

I had thought brunt umber was a fish dish. I guess I must have been thinking of baked trake.

* Years ago the military had annual surveys of the soliders. To test the accuracy of the surveys, phony questions would be included. One year, in different questions the soldiers were asked if they liked or not the completely made up dishes of 'baked trake' and 'boiled ermal.' The large majority of soldiers agreed that they liked baked trake and did not like boiled ermal.

No, burnt orange isn't a color One prize I pulled from ebay a while back was the 1916 Spalding football guide - it describes in detail the first Texas A&M vs Texas football game at College Station. A&M upset texas 13-0. The guide doesn't mention that some Aggies branded the score on the steer, which was then re-branded by texas to read "BEVO".

I believe the ROTC students would agree that "roasted bevo" is indeed a tasty dish.
