Default Augh - taxes!

Its 3:55 AM local time...

Yesterday, the wife and I blocked out the afternoon to finally knock out our taxes. Pulled everything together, drove down to her office and got it done. It was actually a pleasant activity. Tax situation was "better than expected". We got everything together smoothly. As a team, we worked like champs. Even got it done quicker than expected.

Then I woke up at 3AM wide awake realizing I missed a form from one of my investments. It'll swing it maybe $250 in either direction. Certainly not sending me to jail nor bringing on my retirement sooner. Just mad as heck that I forgot it.

Im darn near tempted to take the keys to her office and correct the filing right now. But I'll wait. Awake. At 4AM on Easter Sunday.

My wife's a CPA, so we got ours done yesterday of course, after she did everyone else's.

Need to pay a little bit more now, and then of course property taxes are due next month.

So just how the heck am I supposed to get something in the REA auction!

Haha that's funny. My mother is a CPA and she did everyone's taxes before mine too.

The same person has been doing mine for 28 years. I always get the first appointment on the last Saturday before the weekend before taxes are due. This year someone grabbed my time slot and he convinced that person to change. The beauty is that he is in Massachusetts and I live in Virginia. I drive up on Friday, stay in a hotel and after taxes are done, which is about two hours, I meet one of my buddies for lunch. Then I get to deduct the whole trip, hotel, rental car, tolls, gas and meals off of next years taxes as an expense to having my taxes done. What a deal and it is perfectly legit.
