Default 1983 Topps 1952 Mantle reprint PSA

So I have two 1983 Topps Mantle reprint cards. They aren't valuable by any means, but my question has to do with were there really two variants of the card in the 83 set or is the psa 9 a reprint of a reprint? They both appear to be different card stock. My guess is psa mistakenly graded the 9 but just curious if anyone in here knows something I don't about this set. Thanks.

My reprint card from the 1983 set looks just like the PSA 8 with the cream back and the blueish color on the front. My opinion is the one on the right is not from the 1983 set. I have sold two other sets in the past and they also had the cream back with the blue background the same way as the PSA 8.

Maybe the one on the right is from the 90's set that came in a couple formats of factory set?

I don't have any of either set, so Nothing to compare to.

The newer reprints are different on the back. I looked for a bit and could not find another reprint release having the same backs. But even in the pictures posted here, the backs look different besides the white. Where the card number in the baseball appears to be positioned differently.

Aside from the reprint sets themselves, apparently uncut sheets also had existed for these. Perhaps this other card came from a sheet?

Well I sent the card in question to PSA for a free review after I emailed them and the PSA 9 card is a fake. Nuts why would someone fake a reprint... I have to say though that customer service at PSA was awesome and is paying me for the price I paid.

A fake reprint is almost an oxymoron.

easy to repay 150 bucks....issue will be when its a 40k card and theres an argument of whether there was 'frosting' I am assume your fake reprint has evidence of frosting on it at least according to PSA, but they overlooked it this time

Angkor Wat has been on my bucket list of places to visit since I was in High School. 30 years later and I have been all over and still have not made it there yet.

I would love to see any pictures you would share.
