Default 1951 Bowman Double Printing Error

Just picked up this neat little oddity. Looks to me like this may have recently been cut from a sheet as those corners mighty sharp. What do you guys think?

I have a few single cards. Looks like they were used as test printing sheets. All the backs on my cards are blank, with the fronts having 2 different back prints over them.

They could have been cut recently, who knows and/or who can tell? The graders can't, and if you get them together privately, they'll will admit it. Actually, we might have passed the denial phase of the "when" on the cutting of strips happened and entered into a different era of considerations on their grades (which is good). I have always said, give the strips numbers if you want to, but at least put the "hand-cut" caveat on the flip. As for these '51 Bowman's I have owned several strips and singles of all types and varieties of misprints, many similar to the ones shown here. I am pretty sure I still have some in my cases for sale, too ... I think mine are blank backed but don't remember, off the top of my head. I think they look neat.

Very neat! I picked up a few of these last year. One thing you can do is put one on a gram scale. It turned out to be a gram heavier so they may be printer's test.

I am not sure I have ever heard of someone weighting a card before. Also if it is really a full gram difference that is a lot. Any reason you weigh cards and what scale do you use?
