Default Were these programs real

Was this real 1933 program real? I read a post on here acouple years ago that said if it's missing the trademark it is fake/modern. And I looked at all the others that have sold at auction and they all had the trademark.

Also I'm curious about the 1930 and the other one. They said it's a world series one, but why are the Teams listed as Cubs and White Sox. Also why would a cubs program have 1930 world series in it. Both seem like high prices.

I think buyer W***6 has no clue about sports memorabilia. They paid $80 plus for a Moeller B18 in average shape with stains. lol

The 1930 Cubs/Sox scorecard is a strange one I've never seen before - the 2 Chicago teams played a very popular "CITY SERIES" each fall when neither team made the World Series. Players made a bundle off the series, which was usually a sold out affair. As to why the Cubs and Sox are listed along with the real World Series line ups, if it's legit (and why the heck someone would fake smething like this si beyond me), it was probably a way to burn off some unsold scorecards by printing the A's-Cards W.S. lineups in them and hawk them at a cheap price so fans can score the came while listening on the radio.

No one has any thoughts whether the 1933 allstar program was real?

Default Programs

The 1933 program is not all that rare and based on being with the other two, it is probably real. It appeared to be in pretty good shape, but also brought pretty good money for the risk. Based on what I can see, I think it is real.

I'm confused then? So then why would all the other ones sold at major auctions have the trademark on the score card page yet this one doesn't? And a member posted a long time ago saying if it's missing the trademark then it's fake?

Brock is correct, the All Star Scorecard is a reproduction.

No trademark = No good

So, what you are saying is that you proved yourself right? Not sure what the point was? Ok, you were right.

The point was to see what others would say. I saw the net post before this auction and told the seller but they didn't care. So I wanted to get more opinions on it.

I was confused as to why you would post this. From my recollection, you should know as I think you are fairly sharp about memorabilia. Obviously it was thrown in with the other two to set it up as real. Post auction, it's a moot point. I don't have anything against you, it just seems stupid to post this.

So it's stupid to ask whether it was real or not because I'm not a expert on scorecards and wanted to verify that members post was correct and that it is a fake.

Let's put it this way...when you post about an item that you think might be fake and there's a good reason you think it's fake it's nice to tell us why you think it might be fake when you start the thread. People were doing this on the autograph side pretty frequently and it can get people cranky. I don't know what your motivations were, but on the autograph side it was usually a gotcha game designed to embarrass someone.

I shouldn't have wasted the time writing about the Sox/Cubs city series if all this post was about was playing gotcha.

He addressed this in his first post. He said he saw that the ones w/o trademarks were fake but was confirming it. I think we need to be careful about guessing forum members motivations especially when it's an experienced member. The other guy that got booted, Mr.Ruth, was playing games...and that is most of the reason he is now banned.

On the contrary, I really appreciated your post on the other program and the history behind the city series, Gary. It's those little bits of insight that make me keep reading through threads that I may have lost interest in otherwise.

I'm confused what you guys mean by gotcha.

Is this forum not for people to ask questions? Did I not ask whether they were real or fake. Did I not state why I thought it was fake. And I was going to send this thread to the auctioneer to show it was fake. But no point now.

Sorry I thought this forum was for collectors to ask questions. I won't ask anything else just post pictures then.

That's not it Brock. You did nothing wrong (at least in my eyes). The bigger our forum gets though, the more yahoo's it attracts. Some of those yahoo's cause trouble and act like idiots. Unfortunately, those kind of people taint it for others.
It seems as though people thought you already knew and were testing them or something? Heck, I don't know. I just like to collect and have fun......

I apologize to Brock for not following the thread closely enough before spouting off...I was already cranky from what was happening in the autograph forum (surprise!), and my Private Mail.

Kind of funny on the scorecard page he takes the picture side ways so you can't really see where the trademark should be.

I noticed that too, obviously a seller who knows its fake as well. Yet passing it off as real. Nice.

Default just a heads up

This program is no good, as mentioned earlier in this thread it is missing the registered trademark, just don't want anyone to get burned:
