Default Old photo help

I am not very knowledgeable in older photos. I believe this is known as tin type photo? Please correct me if I am off base. I wasn't sure either if these guys are athletes on the same team due to the similar clothes. Any ideas or help would be very much appreciated.

Jon

It is a tintype. The appear to be performers of athletes of some sort.

Looks like 19th century swim suits, it could be a tourist photo from a spot like Atlantic City.

I think you guys are right. They don't appear to have shoes on. Which would support the swimming idea.

I'm going to break with consensus and say it is the 19th century boy band Back Yonder Avenue Lads.

I'm going to break from the general consensus of the board and say they're wearing swim suits. 😎

Jon, you know I am just having fun. I want to hear that Ben has a growler in the bottom of his lung that is nearly full.

I have this tintype of their potential dates, although two will have to double up:

Looks like whoever built those buildings in the background didn't own a level.

Yeah - looks like the entire village is tilted. I wonder why the photographer didn't ask the ladies to bend to the side a little? Trick photos were popular about this time - I've seen some where the photographer has his subjects acting like they are crawling up a mountain, but it's actually flat land and he has tilted the camera (like in this photo).

No worries. I needed the laugh for sure.

I love the old drop cloth backgrounds.

The ankles appear to be covered good sir. Are those some sort or stockings they are modeling?

My guess- This was actually the first time Farmers Only dot com was advertised.
