Default Set wishlist (not B/S/T, just chat):

And all are from this subforum's era. Chosen because of a combination of rookie card greatness, bang for your buck, and (to a lesser extent) personal preference:

1951 Bowman and Topps 1954, 1955, 1968, 1975, and 1978. From about grades 2 to 7 in order of the list.

Was able to land the '55 that I wanted. The '75 wasn't too tough and can get the '78 out of gumball machines compared to the rest.

Still need the 1951, 1954, and 1968. The '68 interests me the least, but the combo of Ryan and Bench still calls. Naturally the '51 may be out of range for awhile. Would rather not spend almost 10 k for something where your Mantle rookie went through a blender.

Anyone have an extra '54 they don't need?

My set wish list:

1957 Topps
It was the first set I ever saw completed (my college professor had us over one night for supper, and her husband had built it). Plus, I love the look of this set.

1961 Topps
Another set I love to look at. Nothing more than that.

1962 Topps
My uncle gave me my first vintage card when I was in junior high. It was the Mays-Mantle card out of this set, and I fell in love with that card.

1975 Topps
My birth year, plus I love the design.

I almost picked up my birth year ('74) recently too, but got outbid.

The colors of the '75 are just one of a kind. It was the one I could've ended up with ages ago when I was first collecting/dealing (back when we were all churning butter), but never quite happened
