Default Larsens Perfect Game uniform to be auctioned

Larsen, the architect of the only perfect game in World Series history, will auction off the jersey and pants he wore when he beat the Brooklyn Dodgers 2-0 in Game 5 at Yankee Stadium on Oct. 8, 1956.

Steiner Sports Marketing & Memorabilia (www.steinersports.com) will handle the Larsen artifacts. Fittingly, the bidding will begin on Oct. 8, 2012—the 56th anniversary of the perfect game—and will end on Dec. 2. The duration of the auction? Fifty-six days.

http://www.nytimes.com/2012/05/27/sp...fect-game.html - link to the article in today's new York times. It is a great piece of memorabilia but I'd rather have the Thompson shot heard round the world hat. And would have gotten it at a much cheaper price.

The uniform of Yogi Berra, Larsen's perfect batterymate during that Game 5 against the Brooklyn Dodgers, sold for $565,000 in an auction.

I can see it now,,, they will have to pay so much for the uniform that they will start mounting it on cards using threads from the jersey.
But who would put anything past the card companies and their destructive paths.

I think this will fetch seven figures. I also happen to think that MLB will be the winning bidder and will donate it to Cooperstown. You read it here first.
