Default The Green Tint New Deal

A while back I started a thread talking about how I discovered some specific 1962 Green Tint cards were obviously cut very poorly at the factory, leaving the vast majority of the ones in circulation thin side-to-side. Here it is...

Well, it is time to revive the issue, because I just found a new one. Having picked up this sweet #183 Roger Craig PSA 9 GT...

...I saw it was definitely shorter side to side than it 'should' be (yes, I know that cutting cards wasn't/isn't a perfect science and slight deviation is expected), so I decided to start finding as many Craig green tints as I could to see if this anomaly was prevalent (I only looked at graded cards, because you can readily see that they either fit in the standard sized holder or they swim). Sure enough, it is. Virtually every single one I found was short (to varying degrees) side to side. Here's a bunch of them. Hopefully the pics are large enough to see what I'm talking about...

Like I indicated in the thread referenced above, there is no way in heck that all of these cards (PWCC aside) were trimmed by someone in a garage somewhere with an Xacto knife. Clearly, they must have come out of the green tint factory this way. I guess the next step is to start checking the other GT's that were in the same row/column on the printing sheets to see if they suffer from the same malady.

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.
