Default Hollywood Park Card Show

Went down to the Card show and must say that it was very weak, it almost seemed like everybody had pretty much the same as last show only less. Stayed for an hour bought a few things and bailed.

I found a couple of nice cards including a very unusual T207 variation missing the red and yellow inks. No one I showed it to had ever seen anything like it before. Trevor suggested I have them label it the "Albino T207". GAI is slabbing it and I will post it for viewing when I get it back.

The show is turning more and more social; N54 posters and lurkers were there in force. You can count on one hand the number of worthwhile tables, though. Very little pre-war. Fortunately, I was able to finish my Good Guys and Bad Guys western set, pick up a few boxing odds and ends, and pick up a couple of Indian Gum cards I wanted.

Can't wait for the National...

Here is a nicely bloodthirsty scene from history:

But the people at Global were really nice and easy to deal with. They are trying hard at customer service, which says something in this era.

Also met and was finally able to put a face to David Varga.

The devil also made me pick up a 1950-51 Toleteros Jim Gilliam from the Lelands booth; they had a bunch of lesser cards from the Toleteros sets for sale. I'm not getting into them; I just like Jim Gilliam.
