Default Amateur Dumb Listing Question

When you list tobacco cards for sale which is the best abbreviation style and does it matter in terms of how people type it in the search function?

Would you list in title: t206, T-206, T206, 1909-11 T-206...?? Cheerio

Whether you type in T206 or T-206, both show up in your search on ebay. So you could use either one.

When I'd list a T206, I would always list it this way: "1909-11 T-206 .......".

Eric, are you sure? I know I used to search "E94" and one day discovered that my search wasn't turning up "E-94". Maybe their search program has changed.

Same here. Also when I used to search for E91, I would need to do a separate search for E91A, E91B, E91C. But again, maybe that has changed.

You're right Bob.....it doesn't work for E94's. (Edited to add: or any other set. You learn something new every day)

So Bob is right..... for E94's you have to search by E94 or E-94.

Edited to say: That now I know I'm completely wrong.

If you type in T206, only T206 shows up.

If you type in T-206, then T 206 and T-206 show up, but not T206

If you type in T 206, then T-206 and T 206 show up, but not T206

I believe that the Ebay search function considers hyphens to appear in the system as "T 206", making the hyphen appear as a space between the 2 letters/numbers in the search. Thats just something I have noticed.
