Default Who knew Abe Attell

I am very new to this forum. I was hoping to meet as many peope as I can who may have met or had some great stories of him. Abe and Monte Attell are my 2x great uncles and Caesar wad my great grandfather. Unfortunatly abe passed away same year I was born.

If you were lucky enough to meet him I would love to hear your story. If you collect items of himm would love to see your favorite purchase.

Love the cards you picked. I have to many to list so here are 4 of my choices. The Monte card was found behind a wall with some baseball cards. Its dirty but the story that goes with it is worth more than the card.

Glad to meet another Attell collector. Welcome to the board.
Here are my Attell cards:
http://www.collectorfocus.com/collection/christopher_herman/abe-attell
I also have an E77 (name on right) and another T225 (Khedivial back) at SGC right now. I'll post scans when they return from grading.

Default More Abe.

These two are freshly returned from SGC. Enjoy.
What do you guys value the E77 at? It's seemingly a tough card from a tough set. (And I would entertain an offer if anyone is interested.)

Default e77

Well a couple of years ago when I ended up with two I sold my extra one for $180(graded same as yours) and was able to get my second one for under $50. Not sure why he was willing to pay so much for it. He too like to collect attell cards along with some other HOFers.

Here is a photo I found in storage I forgot I had. Glad I found it. Not sure on how old it is but it looks to be for a newspaper. This is what happens when you collect to much you forget what you have.

Hope you like it. Better in your collection than my storage. Thanks to our trade and my 2 new pick ups i'm only 4 cards away to having all cards made of him. The Red sun still waiting for it in the mail. The T225 I now have all 4 backs made of it.

If anyone has a C52-Pet cigarettes-T227 Miners cut they are willing to part with let me know.

On the T225 issue, there are many more than 4 backs...

Do you have the Kopec, T219 Red Cross and e79 red back issues? If so, congrats! Those would probably be his toughest issues...

butcher,

I forgot about the red cross. The red back I had a chance to buy few years back, but it was pretty beat up. So I guess I have more than 4 left. You have upset my wife though she was reading the thread with me and says great there goes our vacation money. Well I guess I will have to be real good for next xmas.

How many backs to the t225 are there?

Tell your wife i'm sorry! :-)

I consider there to be 10 different backs for the T225 issue but some collectors say there's 11, with the 11th being a blank back. I have never seen a blank back that wasn't hand cut which means they likely come from the advertising poster.

I will tell her don't know if it will help lol. Wow 11 thats great. I was a little sad cause I do love the hunt for a new card. Im sure you are the same the feeling when the new card comes in the mail and to hold it in your hand. Looks like I have a few more years of treasure hunting ahead of me. I only wonder if my boys will have the same pasion as I do with this sport.

Default Interesting Picture

I can't indentify too many people in this picture on eBay, but first row, second person sure looks like old Abe.
