Default Boyd Pierce, You Say.

I have exactly 100 different of these super cool wrestlers, but I had never heard of a name for them. So, who/what was Boyd Pierce? Photographer? Promoter? Thanks for posting those, sthoemke. I see a lot on your post that I haven't seen before. Any idea or wild guess how many there are total?

If anybody has a Dick the Bruiser available, I am definitely interested.

Boyd Pierce sold the photos by mail order.

I suspect there are well over a thousand different photos, perhaps much more.

He was also an announcer/commentator for Mid-South wrestling.

Any other names that you have that you are willing to share? Love looking at the images of these.

Default Cowboy Bob Ellis Fan Club

Fan clubs were really big in the 50's & 60's. This young lady made Cowboy Bob's card into a postcard. I wonder how many of these Alice typed out manually? She was very skillful and creative.

If someone wants to see them, I'll keep posting. It gives me a good excuse to look at them, too.

I have seen these a few times in the past. What is a fair wholesale price on the common ones?

Thanks,

Jeff

I purchased most of this lot a few years ago because I liked the Dusty Rhodes examples. Three in the second row to the left are signed.

Are these from the same person?

I wouldn't mind that Johnny Valentine if you ever wanted to part with it. Nice piece.

Yeah, it's a great one, but not untouchable. I can sell or trade. PM me if you want to kick it around.

Default Boyd Pierce photos

I recently began collecting the Boyd Pierce photos and have built an admittedly small collection. Would love to come across more---mine are at the bottom of the page here:

Very cool, Supplex55! I had never heard of Mr. Pierce until long after I started collecting his cards.

I WOULD LOVE TO BUY OR TRADE FOR MORE OF THESE CARDS. I have a complete set of 1954-55 Parkhurst Wrestling cards and a near set (115/121) 1955-56 Parkhurst Wrestlers available to trade.

I had one signed by Wahoo, but ended up letting a huge fan get it. Still have the signed Fritz one however.
