Default Anyone Think Average PSA 5 T206 Commons Will Hit $200 By the End of 2006?

Posted By: Don J

Since T206's are pretty much the standard by which pre-war cards are measured, does anyone care to predict where average T206 prices (and other pre-war cards) will be by the end of the year?

...of period. The stock market has been down of late, and I think T206 commons, at least, may start to cool off. But I've been wrong before...

My guess is that some "common" T206s may based on realtively low PSA pops (which makes them something other than average) since to a large degree the PSA Registry is driving the price.

Currently, there are a Grade 7 Sullivan going for $1500 and a Grade 8 Willetts
going for $2400+ with 4 bids. Therefore, extrapolating down to Grade 5 for such
commons, I see bidding at $200 (or more) continuing to be the norm for quite
some time.

The overall economy is considerably better than the "media" is reporting; and,
this fact will continue to "stoke" these prices for T206 cards. Now, I will give
you the benefit of my selling experience at the past two Philly Shows, where
I have sold numerous T206's in varying condition (raw and graded)......

RAW commons Ex to Ex/Mt sold for $75 to $200.

GRADED commons (GAI 5 to GAI 6) sold for $100 to $275.

Had I put these Graded cards on Ebay, I'm sure the bidding would have resulted
in higher $$ than these prices. And, the reason I say this because I turned down
an offer for a Lajoie (portrait), graded GAI 5, of $500. I put it on Ebay and it sold
for $745. (much to my surprise and delight).

T-Rex Ted
