Does anyone have any further information about this series. How rare are they?

Theyre out there, not really rare, more scarce. The problem that killed (value wise) that card is the obvious trimming, but still its a vintage Jackson.

I think Mastro had an unused Matty that went for just under $2K in an auction last year. They are by no means cheap.

I finally won a "common" at auction earlier this year after searching for one for a few years. You will see one or two a year typically. There was only one that I saw last summer at the National, a Matty (I wonder if it was the one auctioned). This is only the 2nd JJ I've seen. As far as trimming goes, the cards are slightly larger than normal PC dimensions, so trimming would not surprise me. I am going to bring mine to SGC this summer to see if they can grade it at the National or determine if it is just too large.
