Default Ooops, But coulda been worse

Posted By: joe brennan

I made my first bidding mistake today on e-bay and boy it coulda been a bigger one. I use a snipe service and had 2 snipes set for today. I entered both in between phone calls at work and thought nothing of it. Well I check a few minutes ago to see if I had won either. Sure enough, I had one them both. My high snipe was suppose to be $28.00 for each card. I won one for $24 and change and the other $48 and change? HUH ??? Well I look at my max snipe and it $2800.00 !!! I musta forgot the decimal on that one. Just happens the under bidder has been buying T206's for a premium and his bid for this PSA 2 MK was $47 and change. About twice what I would pay, but thank goodness he didn't put in some really crazy bid just to win it. I'll pay for my mistake and acually the card does present itself well. Like I said though, it coulda been much worse. Joe

Look at the under bidders history for T206's and you'll see some pretty hefty prices paid for them. Thank goodness this wasn't a PSA 4 or I might have bought it for $150+.

Joe- I did a similar thing years ago, placing a real time bid on ebay with seconds to go (before snipers were the craze) and to my astonishment won a card for much more than I had intended to bid. We live and learn Besides your Ames looks very nice for a 2.

I did the same thing but on a postcard(wife collects). $26.89 I bid $2289, boy was I surprised when I won it for more only to learn what my actual bid was. That could have been really ugly!

Wow, ya got me last-minute on that one. Early on I was about to up it more but decided against it and left my original high bid. You would have won it no matter what with that kind of 'mistake' you put in.

Sorry Rob, In all fairness the card should be yours. If it wasn't for my blunder you woulda won it. Its only fair that I offer it to you for what I paid. If you are interested e-mail me. Joe
