Default Root auto I thought I woul share

Picked up this Charlie root auto on ebay and thought I would share. Having been always been a fan of baseball history the Babe Ruth "called shot" legend has always facinated me and when I saw check form his playing days I liked it. Check is from 1930 2 years before 32 world series made out to his mortgage co for 148 buck or 2700 in adjusted inflation. I picked it up for 25 bucks so called shot being true or legend its still part of our baseball history and I thought it was a good cheap pickup. Any thoughts?

Root checks are actually very plentiful. But not $25 plentiful. Very nice.

Nice check, i like the "Chicago Cubs" printed on the check.
Here's my Root check w/ a sepia photo, although it scanned a bit on the yellow side.

Here's my Root check that I framed with my original 20's Ruth Golf photo. Sort of an odd mix but it makes for a cool conversation piece I think.

Very cool.

I know where the Irving Park bank was located and it is fun to think back to this era and imagine Root walking into the bank, depositing his Cubs check and doing his banking. I might have to find me one of these as well.
