Nothing for me.
I thought the M101-6 prices looked quite reasonable, though.

I won the W-unc playing card of McGraw. Neat little card and goes with a Meusel I already have out of this set.

Some really aggressive prices out there. In particular, with regards to the cards I was watching, the e107 Dougherty and the t204 Square Frame Bancroft seemed to fetch insane prices....over $3800 and $4200 respectively. Anyone know the story on those two? Consigners have to be happy I'm sure!

The E101 Matty almost doubled in price the final couple hours too. Amazing prices for most cards.

I'm a bit concerned that the Bescher OM, based on the scans, went that high because bidders thought it has a ghost on the front.

I was trying or the Lafitte Hindu.. until I realized that the next bid would have made it a $1K card.. jeez... went very high imo.

I got the D311 lot... I'll keep a few and sell a few. Seems like it's the time to buy those.

I have to admit, I won the Meusel.... and for all your good fortune, I procrastinated and bid SECONDS after time ran out on the McGraw, and I wanted the McGraw more..... so you got the McGraw cheaper, and then one of the original bidders - maybe you ?? :-) knocked me up another 80 bucks on the Meusel before they gave in........... UGH !!!! JOHN Is your Meusel graded.... I know there are two graded, and perhaps one or two floating around not graded... Leon has one I think ???? or the Ruth..

If the winner of the Square Frame T204 wants two more from the set in better condition at a discount to what they paid last nite I'm all ears.

It's a good thing you missed by a few seconds (was this when the entire auction ended??) as I fell asleep a little after 1AM and wouldn't have been able to counter.

I was a little surprised the McGraw didn't go higher as I thought he was the uncatalogued player, is a HOFer and I haven't seen that bright red variation yet in this set either.

As for the Meusel, I was intrigued by the oversized borders but I never placed a bid on it at any point. I have that one already in a 40 holder (light brownish/orange-ish variation). 4 baseball players in this set right? McGraw, Meusel, Ruth and one other...can't think of the player right off....

If it didnt have a ghost on the front, than the front of the Sweet Cap ghost Bescher would have had to be perfectly cropped and placed in the SGC holder that had the Old Mill flip on there. The two Beschers were identical cards, with different flips and different backs.

Based on comparisons of the two scans, I'd be EXTREMELY SURPRISED if this wasn't a photoshop job. I see no difference in positioning, corners, colors, etc. between the "two" cards.

I have a Ruth from this set that I got from fkw. I believe Leon and Adam also have Ruth's. The partial checklist from this set that Adam did is here: Link.

From Goodwin, I managed to win the Big Head and Pathe Freres Ruth's. Not in the best of conditions, but tough cards that I really needed.

So me (John), Leon and Brian have the three known Meusels. We are price fixing the value at $1000. Ha. No. I missed the bid on McGraw before the 15 mins get added on So I was barred from making bids. Yes. It should have gone for double easily. But you never know ! Great pickup

I am suspecting they have a clean scan of a T206 SGC slab and add each card & the white block of flip details to this clean scan. The wrong front was used during this process.

I mentioned there was an error when the auction was opened and Bill did reach out to me, I never heard back.

I think they just screwed up the descriptions - looked like a text messed-up 'cut and paste' job.

That's strange... What would be the point of that? It seems like extra work.

Damn, Chris - you are right. Only looking at the three Beschers, they are using at least two slab images. I'm not sure I like the idea - errors like this notwithstanding, they really should show images of the actual slab that goes with the card.

Buy the card, not the digital slab.

Really though, who cares if the slab is the actual slab. If you want it changed for one with no scratches or whatever, you can get that done for $5 or buff it out yourself. Doesn't seem like a big deal to me. They're just looking for some uniformity in the catalog and this step helps to make it look presentable without materially changing anything about the actual item you are receiving.

In this case, the scan shown was if a car with a ghost... If it was photoshopped as expected, that bad boy will be returned.

I get that. But in general I'm saying that I don't have a problem with the practice. Obviously, in this case, if an error occurred or if the card itself was photoshopped, I would understand returning the card.

The other playing card strip ballplayer is Speaker.

Since the McGraw and Meusel were my consignments I really wish you guys had bid them up!

I struck out on the one item I wanted, the 1913 A's envelope. Great looking item.

I picked this card up, for what I felt like was a very fair price. I think the fact that it looks horrible cockeyed in the PSA slab probably helped.

Not to go off-subject, but Adam, did I ever tell you that I tried to get Leon to change your signature because I thought it was directed at me? He wouldn't do it, agreed it was probably towards me, but thought it was a good message.

I will say that I didn't bid on the OM Bescher because I thought the scan was wrong too. Almost bid, but said that was too much of a coincidence, two different brand backs with the same ghost. Card will most definitely get sent back by the buyer.

Anyone else surprised when they got an email today that another Goodwin auction was starting already?

I am fairly sure the message is directed at someone else but I won't go there . That person has been behaving lately.
