Default Inspire me, boys! Show me your '54 Wilson Franks

I saw Jerry's '54 Splendid Splinter in the regional sets discussion, and it piqued a desire to see some more cards that you guys own. I have none (yet), but oh yes, that card will be mine! In fact, this is a set I'd very much like to work on. It would be quite costly, understandably (even a low grade example of Williams easily commands a few thousand bucks), but at only twenty cards in the set, I think it's doable over time. Maybe built a low condition set, and then upgrade as I go.

I found this nifty picture of an uncut sheet, which represents the entire set. This is absolutely drool-worthy, and should inspire the presentation of some real beauties.

Bring forth the cardboard!!!!

This issue is just the best -- the colors, player selection, and an improbable pack of wieners on the front. Simply Awesome.

I'll show you mine if you show me yours...
cards! just the cards!!

Default Wilson

Very nice Bob. Were the cards actually packed with the dogs ? Were they separated in some way ?

My only football set is a set of 1960 Mayrose Bacon St Louis Football Cardinals. The cards are some kind of laminated product that were packed right with the bacon. I swear on some days you can still almost smell the bacon on those cards

I don't think they were, since I've not seen hot dog stains on any of the cards like you see with the Kahn's cards.

Default Hot Dogs

I like that Stephens card...looks like the throw is going to sail over his head and the runner will slide in safely.

That is, of course if someone is throwing weiners.
I am surprised that no one has said "tossing franks" or floating "Frank's " as it were

My only example in this set is a Feller, already shown and the one I have is in far lesser condition , so I'll spare posting it.

I could see myself collecting the HOFers in this set ... They are rather neat. (like Bill mentioned, not right away)

I vote that Gil Hodges is "most likely to get hit in the head unexpectedly by a deranged hot dog vendor."
