Default 1980's Toronto Blue Jays gamers

The Jays are my team and even though they are having another crummy season and haven't been to the playoffs since the second of back to back WS years in 1993, I still support them. I find myself reminiscing about the glory years of the mid '80's through 1993 when I see them taking a pounding by the Yankees again tonight.

Just added to my collection:

A game used George Bell, baby blue road jersey from 1984 and a game used Bell LVS that was autographed at his recent induction into the Canadian BB HOF. Line up card is from 1987 and is a Tigers issue, but features a stacked lineup from both sides - Fernandez, Moseby, Barfield, Bell, Fielder, Gruber and McGriff for the Jays and Whitaker, Gibson, Trammell etc for the Tigers.

If anyone has a 1980's Jays LU for sale pls let me know.

Also got gamers of Barfield and Moseby signed as well.

George Bell was a really good player who suffers from the too common name...when a player is a really good player whose accomplishments are not as recognized because his name is too common. Dave Smith, Troy Brown, and Mike Scott are a few who come to mind.

Nice pickups Chris!! I am a Jays fan also, but don't collect too much stuff of theirs. They did have some good teams back then, guys who gave 100% every single game.(Except maybe Gruber when he was dipping in the sauce)
I would love to see Fred McGriff get into the HOF someday!

Nice pickups!! That is a really nice display as well. Are Jays unis from that era still one of the toughest? I remember in the late 80s they were non-existant.

Chris

In case you didn't know, McGriff is a roving instructor for the Jays. He's been in Vancouver the last week or so with the C's.

Thanks! The powder blues from the. '70's and '80's are pretty tough to find. They are out there but aren't leaving collections quickly.

Hi Max! Hope you guys are doing well?

I did see Fred's name being mentioned in Jays tour marketing pieces. Great image and I agree that he looks like he could suit up.

Hello,
My name is Ian Jefferson and I'm the son of former major leaguer and original Blue Jays pitcher the late Jesse Jefferson#34. I'm just looking to see if anyone on here may have anything from my father. I'm already a member of another forum...mostly looking for game photos and really anything. I have some of his uniform things and such. There are photos circulating around the internet. So this may help if anyone wishes to help so that duplicates are being sent. Looking forward to any kind of help.
