I never noticed this before but the fact that there are several southern leaguers in the 213-1 (aka 1910) coupon set, really complicates the concept (now taboo?) of coupons being considered t206 cards and just a burdick classification mistake. It really seems to point to a completely unique way the creators conceived and built the coupon offering.

Hey guys,

You guessed the right guy.... CASEY STENGEL ....I knew you would.

Casey hit the first home run in Ebbets Field (April 5, 1913).

In the 1923 World Series vs the Yankees, Stengel’s inside-the-park HR in the ninth inning won Game One for McGraw’s Giants.
This moment was immortalized, as it was the first HR in Yankee Stadium.

WORLD SERIES BA
1916.... .364
1922.... .400
1923.... .417
-----------------------
Total......393

I thought Ruth hit the first home run in Yankee Stadium (4/18/1923). I think Stengel's was the first World Series home run in Yankee Stadium.

Yes, the first Home Run at Yankee Stadium was hit by none other than Babe Ruth on opening day of the stadium (4/18/1923).

Frank....ole buddy,

You are very welcome.

Casey Stengel fascinated me, when he became NY Yankees Manager in 1949. I was only 10 years old then.
I could tell you many stories of how he led the Yankees to the five consecutive World Championships (1949
to 1953).

Especially, when Johnny Mize single-handedly beat the Dodgers in the 1952 W.S.

Furthermore, Don Larsen's PERFECT W.S. game in 1956.

Incidentally Frank,

Charlotte got her wish.....we have moved from the Farmhouse property in Pennsylvania to a 55+ Elderly community, nearby.

And the Orchid flower plant you gave us, when you visited us, still blooms beautifully.

Take care my good friend,

I should have qualified it....Stengel hit the 1st HR in the World Series at Yankee Stadium batting for the Giants.

SABR quote......
"Stengel’s inside-the-park home run in the ninth inning won Game One for McGraw’s Giants. The moment was
immortalized by a Damon Runyon column which began “This is the way old Casey Stengel ran yesterday.” Two
days later, Casey hit another home run in Game Three, giving the Giants a 1-0 victory."
