What an amazing story. From parental manipulation to get that Clemente RC to e-commerce auto generated searches spanning all manner of techniques to track this down over so many years of searching, what a classic tale of collecting. I admire your focus and tenacity. You’ve earned it!

Congrats! Great Story, can you show us the '55 Clemente you bugged mom for in the '70s? I can actually relate to that part of the story well...

Here as requested is the image of the Clemente rookie that started it all for me. I've been its proud owner for 43 years and choose to keep it in its 40 year old holder over getting it graded (you'll notice the rookie "missing" from my PSA master set). Still brings back vivid memories of the day I got it as a kid every time I look at it. Nothing stellar condition wise (could've been much worse), but people cared less back then, my "most valuable" card.

It's a beauty mate, and your history with this card....well, it's like family now and it wouldn't be right for it to be with anyone else!
Collecting at its best.

Truly an awesome story, glad to see another collector who grew up on long Island as well! Have passed by the Coliseum Inn countless times.
