Just picked up this Kelly E121, not the best condition, but a tough card to be signed by this questionable HOF'er.

GregMitch34 06-05-2012 11:38 AM

Just picked up this beauty, my first Babe (stupidly sold a nice strip card a couple years back) at a seemingly fair price.

Barnard looks like he doesn't take crap from anyone. "Mean-eyed Barnard." Beautiful image, Tony.

Got this from Steve (Ladder7) on the BST for the T206 Portrait collection I'm working on. Thanks Steve!

Matty Portrait

1 Attachment(s)
Finally was able to get my hands on a low grade Matty portrait to complete the pose set... Took the three to my Framer & he was able to put somethign together to help display them (note all cards are in lucites)... PS if you are located in CT & are looking for a framer that can do custom stuff extremely affordable, take a trip to the Framer's Edge in Orange CT. The owners name is Jason, really chill guy and won't let you walk out the door dissatisfied!

GrayGhost 06-07-2012 02:02 PM

NICE display Dave:)

Matty Display

Thanks Scott,

Funny thing is how I got each of them...

My dad bought me the black cap at a Halls Nostalgia auction when I was 10... Paid $70 for it, which was easily $35 too much for it at the time...

The white cap I picked up at a shriners show while i was in college... I saw it at a table and had to have even if the $65 asking price meant that I had to obstain from drinking cheap beer for a month!

The portrait came to me recently in a very fair trade with an excellent board member... THanks Mike!!!

David:

Very nice Cobb for a 2

GasHouseGang 06-08-2012 05:40 PM

Thanks Phil, I agree. I thought the front looked like it could be a 5, but there is some small paper loss on the reverse which accounts for the technical grade.

Picked up this R337 Eclipse Import off of eBay a few days ago. Definitely not a card from one of the handsomest sets ever issued...:(

That is a really tough type. Nice pick up and a great price you got on it.

Jaybird 06-09-2012 08:53 AM

and actually in phenomenal condition for that issue. Every one I see has a crease through the face. Yours presents very well.
