Beautiful cards everyone.

Very happy with this card from LOTG auctions because:

1) It is my first E98
2) It has my favorite E98 background - I'm a sucker for the bright colors on old cards
3) Walsh is laughing on it - cards that have players smiling/laughing make me smile too
4) It is from the Rudy Strejc collection - a little extra history attached to a card never hurt anyone

T205 Joss

Hello all - normally I lurk but I am very excited to add this guy to my T205 set! I had been looking for a while for one with decent centering.

Thanks Jake...LOL...it took me about 2mins to figure out what you were talking about on the Clarke...that is my Clarke didn't even notice. Enjoy and thank you.

Cheers,

John

P.S. Very nice looking Joss.

My first Japanese card.. quite a jump for me, but a perk of being a "Wandering Drifter". The seller was great and even included a book on Japanese baseball cards/history with the card. A new collecting interest is born :D

DerekMichael 02-05-2013 12:17 AM

This is seriously too cool.

I've had had to cut myself off for this month (January over-indulgence), but I got this one in just under the wire on the 31st and it arrived today. I love these things. The illustrations are great and the advice is sound...."Never slide headfirst. Too much chance of you getting hurt and your team losing a valuable man."

Thanks. There were a couple of these Oh rookies listed on eBay recently, but as I learned maybe only about 50 or so in existance. Both went unsold. I contacted the sellers, agreed on a deal with one of them, and in the meantime learned a lot about Japanese cards through email back and forth with both of them. Couldn't be happier with the card, and with the pleasent exchanges that came with it.

Picked up at a reasonable price from D&A. Turned out to be a Factory 649. Nothing major, but a little cool.

That's a cool card, Leon! I know you'd mentioned you were looking for one. Congrats on crossing another off the list.

Someone was a little hungry it looks like.
I love this addition to my HOF collection.
Only graded example at any level, as according to my research this same card accounts for the single Auth grade from both SGC and PSA. Maybe someone was hoping for a 1 on a crossover?

Jason,

I like that T210-4 Schafer ---- with his sweeter only on one arm, and over the shoulder, and his glove tucked under his arm --------- not your everyday pose :)

But that makes T210's FUN

My new favorite card, and my first Zeenut, Kid Durbin from the 1912 issue. What makes him so special? He was a bit player for the 1907 & 1908 World Series champion Chicago Cubs! It arrived earlier this month through a Net54 transaction.

A couple of Ebay specials that I just got back from SGC today. My first T205 card, and a 1934 Goudey. Great way for a bottom feeder like me to break into the Gold Borders, and for about $10.00!

Ha! I was trying to figure out what that was under his arm. I recognized the glove, but I thought he was holding something else under his arm, as well. I didn't even notice the different shirt sleeve colors. :)

10 month of negociation for this card.
My first idea was to buy a SGC Magie. I will perhaps submit that card to SGC for a re-slab...
