Warning --- alert --- breaking news

In the interest of full disclosure I want notify the Board that

1) Two of the so called Goudey commons in this contest are actually Canadian Goudeys.

2) Of the two Canadian Goudeys, one has the French-English back.

Bidding for this card may skewed by the so-called Quebec Effect, incorrectly attributed to the second century Roman Emperor, HADRIAN, until recently.

The Roman connection is now considered spurious and the source of the QE is now known to be the result of a simple typo. Delete the H.:D

I, for one, am delaying my entry for this reason.

Leon, if outing this important information invalidates your contest in progress, I am truly sorry. Please don't send me to another Zone.;)

Leon is a pretty savvy fellow. Perhaps the Canadian info was a curveball he threw us. Out in the open now. :)

The plot will thicken when the Spanish-Polish twist is introduced....

I'm all in at

$688.88.

For those who don't know about the "Polish Twist", search google images for the same and look for a cartoon near the top.

Unless someone wants to do it before me I will go back and find the winner this morning. The last few guesses were well after the auctions closed. That sort of begs the question, does anyone even look at the auctions when guessing? :) It would seem pretty easy to guess the final price after they are over.

All guesses and edits must be done by (Jun 11, 2013 12:35:22 PDT), in this thread. In the unlikely event of a tie the first guess wins.

The winner is ....

paulcarek $571

I was surprised as well about the inaccuracy of the guesses that followed the closing of the auctions. Maybe that isn't a good strategy for two reasons.:D

This post is provided by your humble servant, Leon.
