At the 2007 Philly Show in Reading, PA, Toby (bigfish) made my weekend, by selling me this Frank Delahanty DRUM card. Finally, I completed this A - B - C - D run.
I'd been searching for this DRUM for many years. I have yet to see another one, since I acquired this one. Yes, it is a "unique" T206. On display here is my first AMERICAN BEAUTY - BROAD LEAF - CYCLE - DRUM connection. http://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan7...ntyABCDx50.jpg http://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan7...tyABCDx50b.jpg TED Z T206 Reference . |

Great run(s) Jay.
|
Jay, those are awesome.
VCP only has 3 total sales in the last 12 years of the WaJo Drum. A PSA 4 sold in 2019 for $75k. That one is a crossover from a previous SGC 4, I believe. There is also a PSA 1.5 out there missing a corner. Super tough card, hope you can eventually find one to complete your run |
So much time and effort into these runs! Incredible!

The back runs in this thread are fantastic! I'm really enjoying all the colorful eye candy! But, it is said that variety is the spice of life. So, for variety, here's a black & white back run from the master set of Sam Rice cards that I'm working on. If anyone can help me add to this back run, kindly PM me.
Note: In the last group of cards there are two adjacent cards with blank backs. The first card is readily recognized as a W501 Type 1 because it has "G-4-22" and card number "14" printed on the top border. The second card card is a W501 Type 2, which is identical except for the absence of printing on the top border. |

From my experience working on T206 and T205 runs, I gained an appreciation for certain printing patterns of the T205 cards. Examples of these are.... 1st.....American Lithographic printed exactly 32 - T205 subjects with the A - B - C - D connection. 2nd....HINDU cards and DRUM cards are Mutually-Exclusive. 3rd....The A - B - C - D cards and the T205 AMERICAN BEAUTY (Green) cards are Mutually-Exclusive. Harry Wolter is one of the 32 subjects printed in the A - B - C - D group. I believe this Wolter run is complete with 11 cards. Therefore, I am still looking for his HONEST LONG CUT back. Ted Breitenstein is my favorite T206 Southern Leaguer card.
He started his Major Lge. career pitching a No-Hitter on October 4, 1891. Although he Walked a batter, the next batter hit into a D-P. Therefore, in effect, it was a "perfect" game, since he only faced 27 batters. And near the end of his Major Lge. career, h pitched another No-Hitter.....April 22, 1898. https://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan...350xCOUPON.jpg https://photos.imageevent.com/tedzan...50xCOUPONb.jpg TED Z T206 Reference . |
Ryan, Steve and Chad, thanks for the kind words. These back runs were much fun to put together.

This 1910 COUPON run was a very tough one to complete (and quite expensive). I'd hate to think what it would cost in these days.

In response to many requests (I wish! :D) to see another real-photo, black & white back run, here's my WaJo with the hands-at-chest pose. Surely, someone else has a b & w back run to show.
I'd very much like to add to this back run. Will purchase or trade. Have good stuff to trade, such as T206s of WaJo with scarcer backs (e.g., Am. Beauty, Cycle, Old Mill, Piedmont 42, Sovereign, Tolstoi, etc.) and tough type cards (e.g., G & B Gum, 1910 All Star Base-Ball, D304 Martens, Western Playground, etc.). |
That Johnson run is amazing! Thanks for sharing!

Hal Chase......
This OLD MILL card of Hal Chase is my very 1st T206....which I acquired at the Willow Grove Show in March 1981.

Sorry that you weren't able to get the Uzit Herzog Bill.
Here's my Conroy batting partial back run I'm missing three the Drum, Brown Lenox and PD350-460/25. I just haven't picked up the PD350-460/25 yet a couple of Drums have come up in auctions but they're out of my price range so I probably won't get that or the brown Lenox but I do have a SC350-460/30 "no print". I'm also working on a front run I have 20 of the 29 confirmed Sweet Caporal 350 factory 30's with the large sheet numbers on the bottom. Red Ink "Twins" > HINDU and SWEET CAPORAL 350-460 Factory #42 cards
Here is a different type of run which enables us to better understand how American Lithographic printed certain groups of cards.
I refer to them as the "Red Ink Twins". Exactly 47 pairs.....35 subjects in the 350/460 Series plus the EXCLUSIVE 12 subjects in the 460-only Series. The remaining 34 subjects in the 460-only Series were not printed with these 2 backs. EXCLUSIVE 12 subjects...... Red Ink "Twins" > HINDU and SWEET CAPORAL 350-460 Factory #42 cards
The guys in the 350/460 Series group (35 subjects) are considerably tougher to find with the red HINDU backs, than the Exclusive 12 group.
It is a long-term work in progress. I have a few of them from this Series.
