I keep thinking, suggesting and saying that it's time someone/some group initiated an annual Pre-War National (my preference) or an annual Vintage (pre-1976) National!!

LOL. On the forum we do our best to promote to the younger generation. But most times they are collecting to make a buck. The other ones are the vintage collectors of the future.

I was 42 when I started doing Net54baseball. I will be 64 this year. We are getting older, thank goodness!

R.I.P. vintage

Strongsville is a great show, but we need a show thats all vintage thats multiple the size of Strongsville. I would argue most people could go through every table in Strongsville in a day. I think a Vintage show the size of Dallas or Cahntilly would be accepted with open arms.

The Raleigh card shows this year have been absolutely insane with Pokemon. Depressing.

It's what kids relate to now

I have set up at sports card shows and as a test I show a Babe Ruth card to a young kid and asked them to identify him. NO CLUE.

But CHARIZARD? Of course!

Although I am not a follower I will say Pikachu will never go on the DL or get caught in scandal

Most kids over 12 and involved in actual sports don’t give a shit about Pokémon. When I was a kid, Dungeons and Dragons owned that space. Gotta give it up to the Japanese for cornering the unathletic nerd market.

I went to what was a "Pokemon" show yesterday

One of the few sports card vendors did my last Synagogue show, saw me in the admission line, and gave me a pass to get in. Very appreciated indeed otherwise it would have been

$5 admission and an hour of my life I won't be getting back (including driving to and from the show)

This is where I wish I could wax like Jolly does but it was quite a sight to see at the show. The ONLY positive to the day was more women collecting and vending than at a sports show.

Regards
Rich

When you look at grading numbers, there are more TCG cards being graded on a daily/weekly/monthly basis than.......all sportscards put together. And it's not close.

Will it last, who knows?
