Yes, a big thank you to Andrew and Ryan for putting on an awesome event. I had a great time, and there was a ton of eye candy to be seen.

It was well worth the nearly five hour drive last night to be able to attend today, and I hope this happens again.

Cheers,
Steve

This was an absolute blast! Great to see everyone and special thank you to Ryan and Andrew for organizing :)

Thanks to everyone who came to the event today. I think it went really well. Not sure what the total graded pop of D304 Cobbs is, but 8 in one room isn’t too shabby!

Rhotchkiss 02-18-2023 04:21 PM

Thanks for fixing the pics!!

Leon 02-18-2023 04:24 PM

Looks like a fun time. I (and Darren apparently) got the pictures flipped

Doesn’t look like I made it into anyone else’s photos but I promise I was there. I only took a couple of photos myself because I was too busy drooling at all of the fantastic cards. Thank you to our hosts for putting this together. It was a blast.

Scott, the other T204 Johnson in the photos is mine. Here is a better picture, but not for sale/trade.

Man. I wish I was able to make it. 6 months out of work and this was my second week back so it was tough.

Next time.

I had a great time! Thanks to Andrew and Ryan for setting it up. So many great cards and people to see, I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Thanks! nice card, have a couple of people looking for one, never hurts to ask.

Natswin2019 02-18-2023 04:54 PM

This was a really fun event and I'm glad I got to go! Glad to finally meet everyone and see all the fantastic cards! Even dragged my dad along and he had a blast even though he's not super in to cards. Hopefully there's another one again soon!

danmckee 02-18-2023 06:04 PM

I had a BLAST! Saw and met a bunch of SUPER collectors!

Great time and Touche to the Hosts!

Hankphenom 02-18-2023 06:09 PM

OMG, what fun that was! And I honestly don't believe there's ever been a National that had as many quality cards as this tiny show. Seriously. How about Dan McKee's complete 1910 Washington Times set for starters? Ryan's display was off the charts ridiculous, including an SGC 6.5 WaJo Ramly. Val's Holland Creamery 17/18 and 1924 National Photo 29/30! Babe Ruth gamer in the room--what can you say about that! Nice room, too, good food, and SO many beautiful cards. I even did some business, plenty enough to have made it worthwhile on that front alone. Lovely time chatting with Ryan's wife and many of the guys I knew from the old days or were meeting for the first time. Thanks Andrew and Ryan for making it happen.

Ryan was there any trades to report?
Seems like a great gathering

Some of the goods I saw today. So many gems in a single room. Truly mind blowing

Many kudos to Andrew & Ryan for organizing and hosting this most enjoyable event! What could be more fun than a room full of eye candy in the way of pre-War cards and memorabilia? I echo what others have said re hoping this will become an annual event.

Hi Jay. I am not sure if any deals were done; I did not. My wife bought a walter Johnson book from Hank!

Hank, it was great to see you again and to see your display of special stuff. The framed notebook cover of WaJo that I got from you will be hung on the wall of my man cave tomorrow.

A slight correction to your comment re my display. I had 17 of the 18 cards in the 1925 Holland Creameries set of the World Champion Senators. And, I had 29 of the set of 30 small photos of the 1924 Senators players (same pics as are in the Senators 1924 World Series program) produced by National Photo Co.

If I were to win a Make A Wish contest and had my choice of any card from all the spectacular cards in the room, my choice would be Dan Mckee's to-die-for 1910 Washington Times card of WaJo (those who know what I collect will understand why this would be my choice)!

Thanks, Phil. This t-shirt, which pictures my Hugh Jennings back run, was a surprise gift from two Net54ers (thanks again, Steve & Bryan).

Val’s shirt was the first thing I noticed when I looked the pictures which is pretty crazy considering the amazing cards everywhere. Definitely a cool shirt.

Looks like it was a great event, sorry that I missed it as I've been away from the board for a few months.

Hope there's another one next year as I'd love to attend.

+1 agree Ben that Old Mill Joe Jackson is over the top.

My Dream Card

And some amazing other cards and then of course the Famous shirt. Loved it

hcv123 02-19-2023 07:58 AM

The thing that was so great!

The incredible cards notwithstanding was the opportunity to connect Net54 user ID's with names and faces, to spend time appreciating others hard work and determination in assembling collections that are meaningful to them, and the opportunity to just have a fun day hanging out, talking and sharing stories with others with a common passion.

It was reminiscent to me of days long ago of "shows" in very small locales - people's basements, small hotel shows and a show I went to as a kid held once a month in the basement of a retail store.

robinsonmantle 02-19-2023 08:38 AM

Thank you

Thank you Ryan and Andrew for organizing this event.

It was great to see so many amazing pre-war cards in one place.

parkplace33 02-19-2023 01:22 PM

Great event, great people. Thanks to Ryan and Andrew for organizing. It was great to meet everyone.

e6phillips 02-19-2023 03:09 PM

Thank you for pulling everyone together and hosting that amazing event!

Vintagedeputy 02-19-2023 05:44 PM

Did anyone take roll call of those that attended? Could be neat to track how many people attend these events for the future.

Robbie 02-19-2023 06:07 PM

Great Event! Thank you Ryan and Andrew!
It was fantastic to talk to some old friends and to make some new ones at this terrific gathering. I was able to set up a table with original vintage photos, many of which were Conlon images used for cards. I got a great response and had a fun time. Thank you again. I look forward to the next one!

NiceDocter 02-20-2023 01:01 AM

awesome!

What a great get together! I wish some of the photos had IDs (with the peoples permission of course) just so I could see what some of these legendary collectors look like. Congrats to all who made it happen and to those lucky ones who attended.

That Carl Hubbell photo truly was tricky.

I thought it was one of these two cards

Thanks to Andrew and Ryan for putting on such a great event. As Howard said, it was great to reconnect with some and meet others. There was great knowledge in that room. It was nice to be in a setting where you could have some long discussions and people didn't feel rushed.

Even saw a few cards in binders and penny sleeves I never thought I'd see raw again.
