My scanner really sucks, but you get the idea. Card obviously looks better in person. Buck just seems really confident and ready for anything hit his way.

Hey Josh, despite some damage, that's a nice Bresnahan.

Just bought this for the most I've ever paid for a card--300 bucks. I love the old-time look and the gold sheen in the background. From Tip Top bread company. They only released the World Series team Pittsburgh Pirates 1909 in their set. Interesting to see that they use the correct grammar": "World's Champions" rather than the incorrect "World Champions" we use today. http://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/2016...395af66e93.jpg

My favorite as a kid was Hank Aaron as he approached Babe's record. Having a rookie is treasured....that is my answer, but I like these as well:

George Brett is the star of my favorite team. I kept this card from when it was originally released.

Rube Marquard is my only Cigarette card and a HoF'er. I probably would like it more w/o the autograph.

The Mays/Musial autograph on the other hand I love. Nice sigs, two great stars and wonderful color all on one card.

I also like the Yaz rookie with sig in just the right spot on a card seemingly made for an auto. Great graphics.

Koufax rookie...another all time great vintage rookie...love to go down the list and get one of each of the greats.

Big & Little Poison - classic look and I remember buying these in Pittsburgh.

This is my sentimental favorite - 1970 Topps Jimmie Hall. My very first card. The top card on the stack of the first pack that I purchased as a eight-year-old boy. I have many vintage cards purchased since that time, but this has a special place in my collection.

I know it's not pre-war and not baseball, but I recently picked up the card that is arguably the holy grail of American auto racing cards -- a Fred Lorenzen with car card from the 1972 STP set. This card is now the centerpiece of my collection.

Racing collector extraordinaire Jon Hardgrove has written in the past over on the net54 nons-sports forum that he had seen one example of the card in 26 years. Another long-time collector of the set told me when I talked with her on the phone earlier this year that it took her 20 years to find a Lorenzen with car card -- and that card has a pinhole in it from being pinned to someone's wall back in the day.

I have posted about the "find" in the racing card thread that occasionally sees some interest on this board. The card was included in a box of items that sold for $40 at a live auction of items that were owned by a recently deceased racing photographer. I was not the original buyer at the live auction for $40. But, clearly, no one attending the live auction knew what they were looking at when the box sold for $40. The box included one Lorenzen with car card and several of the nearly as rare Lorenzen portrait card from the same set.

Wow that is an unopened pack of Redman?!? That is absolutely incredible - Is it just one card? That would be the only thing that could keep me from opening it. I love the colors on the Redman cards. I have a Dom Dimaggio Red Man that is basically worthless because of some minor scratches on the back but the color is just absolutely beautiful. I've never seen an unopened pack like that so thanks - it was a real thrill!

Excuse me for reprising this post.......but, I forgot to include the T206 red Cobb with the very rare SOVEREIGN 460 back. I searched 2 1/2 years for the card when
I was putting together my all-SOVEREIGN set. Then another 6 years to find this one to upgrade my former SOVEREIGN 460 red Cobb.

Red Cobb's come and go.....they are the most available T206 subject in The Monster's population. Indeed this image is American Lithographic's "signature picture".

However, this front/back combo is extremely difficult to find. It's my opinion, that it is the toughest (next to the BROAD LEAF 460) of the T206 red Cobb cards.

I'm curious......let's see a show of posts of how many collectors on this forum have this card (condition is immaterial) ?
