Sorry for the confusion then??? I wonder who that was?
I remember now. It was Tony Ooten. You are Tim Odeen. I wonder why they wouldn't slab that Gehrig with an "A"??? Did you want a number grade? |
seller in his description wrote "I guarantee it will grade." To me, and many others on the site, that means 1-10. Regardless, he refused a refund because SGC took roughly 6 months to authenticate it in 2020. He argued "Auth" is a grade in and of itself, and I disagreed. So I posted it in a thread and then the fireworks started. Seller was kicked off Net54. My thread was paired with another thread on the same day that provided huge entertainment on Net54. The other thread turned into a roast and lots of memes.

What is everyone's opinion on SGC? Better than PSA? There ARE certain aspects about them that I like.

That being said having a $1500 value limit for their lowest tier, and ability to submit multiple sized cards in the same order are a huge advantage and why I still use them sometimes. The fact that they still charge $100 minimum (unless it was updated with the new prices) for an oversized holder, and full grading prices for reholders are a huge downside. Updated I also have a handful of cards for your next PSA vintage sub. Sent from my SM-G781V using Tapatalk |

Justin...my PSA membership runs out in 2 weeks. I was toying with the idea of not renewing. Crazy, huh? I have been a member for 14 years. I dunno....as much as I love the hobby, I am not too thrilled about the direction it is taking. |
OK...winding this one up.

I'll be shipping out on Monday Bobby

The bad is that beautiful holder is a POS. I find it harder to get a good picture of cards in their slab because of glare and if you just look at it too long it might leave a mark/scratch in the holder. |
Mine will go out to you today, Bobby.
|
Sending out today, Saturday.

SGC is trying to charge me $400 for return shipping!!!!!

I’m assuming that the return shipping rate is contingent on the number of submitted cards and their value. You indicated there were over 200 cards.
If the average card value is $150.00 (I believe this was my average), then the total value is $30,000.00 (200 cards x $150.00). $400.00 return shipping equates to 1.33% of the package’s total value for shipping expenses and insurance. Is this reasonable? I don’t know and have never shipped this many cards or for this much money. Maybe $400.00 is the correct rate. I have no clue. Just trying to understand and rationalize the $400.00 amount. Out of curiosity, what is the total declared value of all cards? Maybe it would be cheaper breaking the total submission into four smaller ones of around 50 cards each? No clue. We appreciate all the hard work and headaches that come with running these submissions groups, Bobby. |

This whole order is turning into a nightmare. I dummied up a second order. Stopped just shy of their 25k threshhold, and still wasn't given an option for USPS shipping. And unlike PSA, they want their money up front. I m trying to get this shipping ordeal right. If they can't fix this though, then I grossly undercharged for shipping.

If it's $400 to ship back to you then that's what it is. So we each have to Pony up another $1.91 per card to cover it, correct? Don't stress over it, we'll work it out. |

Guys.....we have a MAJOR problem with how SGC entered the order in. When I submit under PSA, they enter the order in the exact same way I have them on the form. That way I am able to group everyone's cards together and can know whose card is whose when ya'll submit multiple copies of the same card!
SGC did NOT do that!! They entered the cards in a totally random order. So for the multiple people that entered in multiple copies of the same card, I have no idea whose is whose. This is a MAJOR problem!!!!! |
hopefully everyone has scans or photos of the cards they sent.
Can you share a list of the cards in the sub? so we can see which cards are multiple, to start rounding up scans if need be? |
|
Also, for guys that had newer cards with autographs on them, they wanted to know if you wanted the card graded, the auto graded, or both????

What a Charlie Foxtrot. I, too, can't open the list. Hopefully, there were not too many duplicate cards. To further complicate matters, I know I submitted multiple copies of the same card. If several others also submitted multiple copies then the fun begins.

We will all do whatever is needed to help out this situation, and more importantly, to avoid giving you a heart attack, Bobby.
Could you post a list in chronological order of the cards that were submitted, so we can see which ones have multiple copies? From there, whoever has one of those could find scans, pics, whatever, to show which card is theirs. |

I'm happy to help out as well if needed, Bobby.

With SGC, I will take the sheets and match them up with the cards. And hopefully I didn't have guys send the exact same card. |
