As reported by Cliff in a post regarding 1957 Topps high series (series 5), one row of the cards has an occasional print flaw of missing ink on either the baseball (with number), the printing (verbage), the left stat box line, or some combo of those.
The row goes McLish-Singleton-Lennon-Arroyo-Lynch-Lehman-Cheney-Barclay-Smith-Pisoni-Graff. We found eight consecutive cards with that flaw, but so far, haven't found it on either the header(McLish) or the last two cards of the row (Pisoni and Graff). An example of the missing ink flaw is shown on this card of Bobby Gene Smith. Attachment 679724 |

Here are two versions of the scan of the b lack lines variation of this card. On one version, I have it the way it looks and on the other I changed color settings to show that what was lined out after his name was "Pittsburgh Pirates" and a the bottom a sentence about him being traded to the Pirates. I THINK this may have been done near the end of production as they realized that there was a different Hall Smith was WAS with the Pirates. I would love to hear thought on this.
