Hey everyone,

I just wanted to thank you all for stepping up to the plate for this newer raffle. I know that there probably was a bit of a 'harrumph' when it was mentioned that there was going to be a price increase, and I'm sure that's responsible for the pace that this thing has taken on. In the end, just know that whoever wins will still be getting a painting I'm putting 100% of my life-force into, whether it fills completely or not.

Either way, I'm excited to be tackling something for one of you at a larger size than the last time, as it can certainly open up some more fun opportunities, image-wise. And certainly, whenever the painting is hung in your home/office/trashbin, it'll definitely have a nice presence because of those extra inches.

Also, a big thanks to Bill and Lance for making this whole thing possible. They've been super kind enough to spend their time crunching logistics, putting the event together, and fielding questions - I couldn't be happier with or more grateful for how they've handled it all.

So again, thank you so much for getting in on this raffle, especially if it does end up being the last one. I'm really thrilled that I'm able to give back to you guys even a fraction of the love you've shown me this past five years.

As per usual, if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to PM me, Bill or Lance, or comment on the thread.

yanksfan09 11-02-2014 03:11 PM

Hey Graig,

Hope this won't be the last raffle. I think maybe try it as a annual event at the same time each year. Maybe opening day, or the all-star break or the World Series. Sometime when everyone has baseball on the brain and knows it's coming. Maybe could try the smaller size painting again for a lower price point also.

I think if it became a once a year type event that people expected and could look forward to, it may get draw more demand.

Got my fingers crossed on this one!

Keep up the great work!

yanksfan09 11-02-2014 03:14 PM

You could also post a poll first before the next raffle if there is one to gauge interest on what percent would rather have higher $ prices for big painting vs. a smaller cheaper raffle....

Maybe encourage everyone who wants to buy a raffle ticket to vote on the poll to get a rough idea of how many interested people there are and for which size.

You have just under 6 days left to obtain a chance to win a great painting from a future hall of fame painter.
These opportunities do not happen every day. And here on only Net54 it can happen for you. If you have not entered, don't let this opportunity slip away and sit on the sidelines and watch this unfold. Get in the game.

thecatspajamas 11-04-2014 05:33 PM

One last entry for me, which should have me all in at 5 total. I've got visions of baseball clowns dancing in my head, so if you'd rather see a power-hitter or spit-baller rendered in KreindlerColor, you'd best buy up these last few entries to improve your odds.

Hi Bill,

I'll take 2 entries please!

(Can I ask what happens if there is not a sell out and the game selected first matches an unsold ticket? I assume you will have preselected a list of games and put them in order, and you will move down the list to the first game that matches a sold ticket?)

Cheers,
Blair

Mark me down for 2.

I have sent payment via PayPal to Graig on 11/7

thecatspajamas 11-07-2014 04:55 PM

Just a heads-up to anyone not inclined to do the math, at this point the odds are substantially better for all entrants than originally announced. The reason being (as Bosox surmised), the numbers associated with any unsold entries will be voided when it comes time to select a winner. If the winning number happens to fall on one of the voided numbers, we (the entrants) will collectively kick ourselves for not having bought just one more entry, and another sporting event will be selected to determine the winner. If that one again falls on a voided number, the process repeats until all our backsides are bruised and a winning number is finally arrived at.

And with that, I know I said I was done, but I'll take one more entry. Just don't tell the wife.

Hi Bill,
I will take two more, for a grand total of 7.

C'mon follks, this is a terrific opportunity to own a great painting by Craig Kreindler!

IMHO, I believe that Craig is the best current artist of this genre.

BTW, when I commissioned Craig in late 2011 to paint Vandy for me, I ironically selected a 20" x 28" painting at his suggestion.
The size and scale is incredible and I've never regretted making the leap.

I've really enjoyed the Vandy painting every day that I've owned it because it resides directly above my desk in my office. My only thought has been that I wish that I could afford to commission a second painting of Nolan Ryan.

Good luck to all of you that have taken the leap and entered the raffle. Someone has just won the new centerpiece of their collection! ;)

Best regards,
Scott

yanksfan09 11-08-2014 08:38 AM

I completely agree with Scott "best current artist of this genre", dare I say of all time?!

2 more for me please.

Grand total of 7

Lordstan 11-08-2014 09:15 AM

I think, without question, Graig is the best artist of this genre, EVER! No artist that I have come across has captured the essence the way he does.

Perez does a decent job with the likenesses, but his watercolors have no depth and life to them. IMHO.

Neiman has great painting style, very colorful and vibrant, but all the subjects feel the same to me. Jordan and Ruth have the same feel to them. Same color palette and style.

Simon, Miller, and many other contemporary guys do nice jobs on likenesses, but, I just don't feel that depth of emotion, that I do with Graig's work.

The best way I can describe Graig's work is the he takes a flat 2 dimensional image and breathes life into them. Even with color images, like the Aaron the last winner had done. It is an incredible image to start with and yet somehow, he waved his magic brushes and Hank came alive on the canvas.

OK. Now that I am done waxing poetic about his talent, I convinced myself to buy 2 more entries. That will bring me to seven total.
I'll send payment later tonight.

Remember, no one tells anyone's wife. Right?

Edit:
Like Scott, I had one done, but a 16x20 of Gehrig, of course.
I can't wait to pick out my subject for the next one.
