Just arrived from REA. So excited. First playing days Ruth. I love that it’s a full-length shot of him in uniform in the house he built.

No problem Adam. My recollection (which may be wrong) is that the only other one I've seen went for three times the price, and in poor condition too.

Went to a local card show in Winston-Salem at Truist Field. Picked up some nice ones there and then spent the afternoon at the local card shop ScoreMore Sports Collectibles. Got 129 raw cards from 1958 to 1970( only Giants and Astros) .The raw cards were all $1 each and picked up a few slabbed cards. Fantastic Saturday!

August Pick-Ups (And First Pick-Up Post)!
 

Hi Everyone! first time poster, long time lurker. Now that I'm building out a pre-war PC, I'm excited to share them with the community. The 1917 Standard Biscuit and 1946-47 Propagandas Montiel were The National pick-ups this year. The T206 Sovereign and 1933 World Wide Gum were e-bay purchases.

Congrats on these very nice pre-War pickups, and thanks for posting them for all of us to enjoy. However, I have a bit of bad news - good news for you regarding your Standard Biscuit card of Amos Strunk. The bad news is that this is not a 1917 D350-2 Standard Biscuit card. The good news is that it is a 1921 D350-3 Standard Biscuit card, which is much scarcer than the 1917 card. FYI, the 1917 cards have a card number at the bottom of the front side on the card; the 1921 cards are not numbered. Also, there are 200 cards in the 1917 set, as stated on the backs of the cards; there are 80 cards in the 1921 set, as stated on the backs of the cards. I believe SGC will correct its labeling error at no cost to you.

Interestingly, this has served to remind me that I have a 1917 D350-2 Standard Biscuit card of Sam Rice that PSA has erroneously labeled as a 1916 D350-1 Standard Biscuit card, which I need to return to PSA for correction.

Thank you for that background on the Amos Strunk! That's the best good news/bad news combo I've ever received in life! I'll definitely have SGC relabel it, most likely at Strongsville or The National next year where I can drop it off to them in person.
