Anyway, I’m not saying violence in hip hop doesn’t exist. Only that it seems to get put under a microscope. Every genre has its own issues that seem to follow them. I’m thinking of overdoses in the rock world, for example. And then there are a number of violent deaths that have little connection to music itself like Selena, Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye and John Lennon.

again we are not talking about all this or all that. But murder is more than an 'issue' The murder of rival gang members is DIRECT connection to the music, battle rappers being murdered is a direct connection as well. Of course not all hip hop has violence. Most people in the world dont kill people. Yet we still focus on the ones that kill. All music and rap isnt actual life as well of course. Just because something doesnt occur all the time, doesnt mean its an issue especially when its murder.... 18 dead rappers that were popular in the charts killed in the last 2 years cant be chalked up as drug overdoses in other genres.. and of course there are young people that emulate these guys that are killed or the ones doing the killing as well.

Basically the point was that this music isnt as much on our tongues about being banned but we worry about one book on roberto clemente in a misleading headline or willy wanka, dr seuss etc..

there are crazy fans that kill people in all genres...for you to make a similar point you would have to show a movie star killing another movie star because of what the movie star said about him or his family in a movie, does that occur once a year? how about 18 times in 2 years? this music can be purchased easily on spotify..but again we are going to worry about a political spin on a clemente book.

Is it possible that some rap artists are expressing their American experience? Some people do not get to grow up in middle and upper class households and those that do should probably not judge how those that don’t express themselves. It’s not shocking that there is more crime in poorer areas than more affluent ones.

right, does your head hurt from all that spinning. Many of these rappers have income in the top 10%. Many of these battle rappers were killed in very affluent areas. You have some narrative which makes no sense to what I was discussing. If you are defending the battle rappers that are promoting killing other rappers and are indeed being killed as the 'american experience' not sure what that means. Again not everyone is part of everything. When you have a jury trial, you wont be judged just by people your age and who look like you and make the same money. Its very insensitive of you to think that if you arent exactly like certain poeple in background you are unable to make opinions. Humans are humans and there is life experience. I think killing people due to what is sad in a rap is bad, i dont need to be from the the exact same background to make that opinion.

You need to be more tolerant of opinions. People from all backgrounds have a right to make opinions. Maybe if you open up your mind and heart to tolerance you can have a more open mind. No one should help make decisions about to to fix problems in the poorest areas unless they come from there ? I dont care where you are from, murder is never right.

Maybe I just support the First Amendment more than you do. It’s a bedrock. Much like the Second that I bet you support.

That's deep coming from you, from a guy who posted a child abuse/pornographic photo in the "funny pictures" thread then tries to justify it by concocting a B.S. story how it ended up on your phone, and remained there no less, then got posted on here.

I asked you before so I'll ask you again. What is your major mental malfunction, Jim?

Conversations are much better when it's just Carter, strawberry and yourself.. maybe you should start your own forum?

Shall I suggest NOT54.com?

Its a shame you are not welcomed here based on that but if you open up to more viewpoints and include everyone you can catch up to 2023 and not be stuck in 1952. We will welcome you..
