Anyone know if this is a press photo or what kind it is?

Not sure where to exactly post this but it needs some eyes on it other than just mine.
Speaking of odd, I noticed an unusual attribute on my 1915 Cracker Jack Al Demaree #92. I am just wandering if anyone else knows much about this potential print error on the card. I can’t find anything written about it but I did see two others like the one that I have. Just trying to see how many are out there.
Just below the C and R above his left elbow there looks to be a super small “y”. The other two that I found were in the same location but it does look to be a print error. Most images I can find do not have this attribute.
I will see if I can attach a picture.
Any thoughts or info about it?

This doesn't really belong with all the great photos and cards here, but here's my lame contribution. I collect Al Lassman stuff because of his interesting story. He was an all american tackle at NYU, his career was ended early when he was seriously injured, then he died while recovering from his injury. He was good enough to be chosen for the 1955 Topps All Americans set. I think this pic was used for his 1927 W560 card. My photo has a stain by his ear, otherwise the photo looks the same to me.

Hopefully this is an acceptable addition to this thread? Here's my circa 1920/21 glass plate copy negative, and it's inverted positive, of the top image from the E121 American Caramel Babe Ruth Montage card. Wish I owned the card as well.

I'm still trying to research what became of the original photo, and how this negative came into existence, and it's original intent. Feedback welcomed.

Recently picked these 2 up. 1939 Ted Williams used for his 1940/41 Play Ball cards with a rookie era signature and a 1951 Willie Mays used for his 1952 Berk Ross card.

I’ve spent a fair amount of time trying to track down the original photos used in the 1956 set. I just picked up this wire photo that was used in Frank Lary’s card.

I would appreciate help in finding the original action photos of the following 1956 cards:

1. Jim Dyck
2. Eddie Mathews
3. Gail Harris/Jim Wilson - the same photo was used for both cards, and the players are probably Whitey Lockman and Pee Wee Reese in the picture.

If you’ve seen these, please let me know. Otherwise, if you have thoughts on how I might track them down, I’m all ears.

I regularly search newspapers.com, Getty Images, and eBay.

Thanks,

Eric

Ashburn on Harris and Wilson cards.

Eric, I think you will find that the runner at first on both the Harris and Wilson cards is Richie Ashburn.
