Two women players, dressed in the Calgary uniforms of the Western Canada League. I haven't yet found if they played on a women's team, or were just dressing in the uniforms.

Wow! Very cool snapshots. Nice images and neat that the fan captured so many teammates on the initial Padres team.
Some Padres fan would probably love to own those...

GoCubsGo32 10-03-2023 07:59 AM

Lots of awesome snappers lately!
Love the Banks & Ryan

Here's a Bert snapper from I believe July 12, 1970 (Minnesota Twins vs. California Angels) at Angel Stadium
Which would be just a little more than a month later from his MLB debut.

Scott, did Angels do camera days with other teams on the field?

Hey Gary,
Nice Blyleven rookie snapper!
Yes, the Angels absolutely did have visiting teams participate on the field during Camera Day during the 1970's.

That last photo of The Big A is just fantastic. Too bad The Big A is currently relegated to the parking lot.

Lucas00 10-03-2023 09:29 PM

Wow, an explosion of posts! Really nice additions to the thread, Angels fans had some good photo skills. And those expansion padres are very cool, would be a bidding war for sure!

Also I wonder what Bert was signaling with his finger down? Great shot.

Hey calangels66,

I love all the Angels' snapshots! I followed that lot of early '40s Angels snapshots on eBay for years, and I probably should have pulled the trigger. I grew up near the "Big A" and have many fond memories of watching games starting in 1970. Here are a few snapshots from those days ...

Thanks Scott! Pretty cool they did that for the visiting team as well!

I'm not necessarily a snapshot collector, but I picked up this group of photos. I know some of the players, but would love some thoughts on others.

A few years ago I stopped by an antique mall & after walking around a bit, I found a booth that had a shoebox full of baseball snapshots ($2 each/3 for $5). I began to thumb through them & figured out that the majority of them were mid 1990's taken at both Veterans Stadium & newly opened Camden Yards.

After not seeing any that really piqued my interest, I was finally rewarded with this shot of Bo Jackson (from his final season) chatting with Cal Ripken Jr.:

Thanks for posting. Really enjoy the Brooks snapshots with photos I’ve never seen before. The above looks a tad off with players standing on some type of stage.

The ‘64 example is really nice. I guess it would be even nicer if someone kept it in a drawer instead of their pocket 😃

Thanks for the info. The photo is like it has perforations. I don’t have any shaps quite like that example.
