Bump.....anyone got anything new?

unclebaseballmike 04-12-2015 02:21 PM

Very Impressive!

Rob,

You've answered the classic question, "What happens when you cross a diehard Giants fan with a space efficiency expert?"

Nicely done -- I've never seen the vertical-hangars approach applied to pennants. You get a lot more in the same space.

Thanks for sharing,

Mike

I mentioned some time back that I was doing a bit of a room-remodel. And then I never followed up with photos. So, here is my ridiculous room filled with baseball/hockey/wrestling/boxing/entertainment memorabilia. Pics aren't great, sorry...my collection of soda advertising lighted clocks plays havoc with the iphone camera.

Scott Garner 04-15-2015 03:46 PM

Great collection John! Thanks for sharing pictures of your collection. :)

My room. Another to go yet.

perezfan 04-21-2015 01:29 AM

Mystery solved!

Now I know who constantly outbid me on the very best pennants.

Jaw-dropping displays, Jeff! No adjectives can do it justice.

Incredible stuff... Can't wait to see what's yet to come!

Awesome room and displays, Jeff. You have a beautiful collection ...and family. :) I'll have to carve our some free time to study your pictures more. ( I love the Chicago football pennnant and that framing job.)

Hot Springs Bathers 04-21-2015 07:53 AM

Jeff your room is fantastic! Great stuff! Where did you find the curio coffee table? I have been searching for one for two years!

sayhey24 04-21-2015 08:05 AM

Jeff,

Obviously the pennants are amazing, but I also really like:

The ball boxes display

The fact you use the sides of the cabinets to display items -- great idea!

And the fact you have a book shelf dedicated to things other than baseball.

REALLY enjoyed your photos -- thanks for sharing.

What I find so interesting in all of these rooms is how the 25 cent pin or ribbon sits proudly next to the $5,000 pennant, trophy etc.

JMEnglish27 04-21-2015 10:52 AM

Wow...fantastic collection Jeff.

perezfan 04-21-2015 10:55 AM

I love that too... It doesn't have to be expensive to be cool. It's more about the sentiment, aesthetics and memories involved, than the monetary value.

jester 04-21-2015 04:35 PM

Thanks all.
Mike for the table I had it made in Malaysia.

Hot Springs Bathers 04-21-2015 06:58 PM

Thanks Jeff, it looks great!

I found a few with a google search:

For mine, I got 2 display cases from Indian River Supply and put them on top of a $20 Ikea table.

Hot Springs Bathers 04-22-2015 07:46 AM

Hey Rob, that looks great! I may have to try that idea.

My room is in such a mess, if I wasn't married to a real live saint either me or my stuff would be out on the street!

I may try to post a photo of the mess tonight.

CobbvLajoie1910 04-22-2015 06:47 PM

Let me just go-ahead and wipe the drool away.

Mike. Amazing collection/beautiful table, sir.

Would love to see a 'Goodyear' blimp view. :)

Thanks for the compliments. I had been looking for some way to display pins so I could enjoy them and easily add new additions. This case meets both those conditions. Added a view from the blimp.

Beautiful collection Phil

Very well done Phil. A nice mix of sports and mediums and different types of displays to house them. Now if only you could find a larger TV. :D

Nice Cotuit jersey.

JMEnglish27 05-11-2015 08:47 AM

Beautiful, Phil. Quick question...what did you use to hang the baseball gloves above the shelving?

A few pics of my home office - space was tight, so i only had about 1 1/4 walls to decorate. BTW, Yoda and the Firebird were gifts from my wife, and Donald has been on every desk I've had since grade school. You can't see it in the picture, but the computer is sitting an an antique roll-top desk. The display shelves are antique barrister bookcases that I got after they were torn out of an old county courthouse. I had to open them up to take the pictures because of the glare from the glass.

JMEnglish27 05-13-2015 03:30 PM

Love the way you've got the bats displayed - that's beautiful

Some changes to my room. I'm filling my walls up more...

almostdone 05-24-2015 07:04 PM

Very nice Eric. Are the balls and bat shown all Yankees or some others mixed in? I see a 55 Williams card so at least one Sox think made the wall:D
Drew

yanksfan09 05-25-2015 02:51 PM

Thanks,

It's mostly Yankees but I have some other randoms on the Wall. With the baseballs on display I have Aaron, Griffey, Paul O'neill (in person), Bernie Williams, Hideki Matsui, plus the following through the mail: boggs, Clemens, Hal Steinbrenner, Josh Hamilton, Kershaw, Rod Carew, Jimmy Key, Ryne Sandberg, Jerry Rice NFL, John Starks NBA, Bobby Doerr, plus Tom Selleck, Richard Dreyfuss all through the mail and last but not least maybe still the only Graig Kreindler signed baseball! Only have 3 bats on display at moment: Ruth 1920's store model above my Kreindler painting, A Nellie Fox bat I just found at a yard sale and a 1999 or 2000 AA Norwich Navigators team signed bat that I got in person and Alfonso Soriano signed (one of my personal faves).

Also have some other random signed photos up, a Bob Feller signed glove, Ty Cobb Check, Hank Greenberg/Gehringer signed display etc... I have Ted Williams signed ball too but keep that stored away. I'll probably rotate soem things in and out of display as time goes on. I Changed all the bulbs to LED to avoid UV rays too.

I have shown these before but I have gotten around to hanging more things and have received a few more (Circus poster, music box etc...

Huysmans 06-03-2015 07:20 AM

Hey Bob,

The photos look great! I especially like where you placed your recent REA pickup (circus poster). The only problem is your Cy Young tin in the last photo, its obstructing the view of other items. Maybe you should just let me help you out and take it off your hands. :-P

Regards,
Brent

ooo-ribay 06-03-2015 01:10 PM

Great stuff, bobfreedman!

1880nonsports 06-03-2015 11:01 PM

really nice displays Bob

Love the eclectic nature and the quality of the examples you've chosen. I couldn't justify another bid or two on the circus poster..... Looks great in your room - wouldn't get the proper attention in mine. Thanks for sharing - always enjoy seeing what other peeps got not hearing about what's in their safety deposit box - although I understand it to some extent with the fear of theft or damage. Suppose I could just hang scans of what I have on the wall or put in my computer files - becomes a slippery slope then as it raises the question of why not just collect the pictures and not have to worry about any of the dilemmas. Soon after - I am awakened from my dream by a knock on the door from the USPS....

perezfan 06-03-2015 11:33 PM

Speaking of eclectic... That last post wins the prize for eclectic post of the day.

That said, I wouldn't at all mind a photocopy of the Circus Elephant Poster for my wall

Scott Garner 06-04-2015 04:12 AM

Great room, Bob! You've amassed quite a terrific vintage collection.
