This thread still has some potential. Since we're in NY area, let's make this a NY Dinner thread

Broncos 24-13. Please make the first score a TD plus kick. I have 7-0 both ways on a number board that pays after every scoring play.

NFL Playoff Pool Update

Seven entrants remain in contention for the grand prize. They are

wolf441
Runscott
mattsey9
bn2cardz
bobfreedman
barrysloate
2dueces

Three favor Seattle and four favor Denver.

The total points tie breaker will be needed either way.

Two entrants currently contend for the last place trophy.

If Denver wins, the arse goes to Peter Spaeth.

If Seattle wins, its all mine.:D:D:D

barrysloate 02-02-2014 09:55 AM

It's 50 degrees in New York today. Springtime!

irishdenny 02-02-2014 03:40 PM

For my Dad. Just because!

Denver 35

Seattle 24

Total = 59

barrysloate 02-02-2014 05:41 PM

Can I switch my pick to Seattle, or is it too late?:(

A perfectly good T-shirt right down the drain.

mattsey9 02-02-2014 06:16 PM

Best 30 minutes of the season. Keep it up!!

Go Hawks!

barrysloate 02-02-2014 06:19 PM

I'm already eliminated from winning the T-shirt...good luck to the others still in contention.

Runscott 02-02-2014 07:24 PM

Damn, Chuck just won :(

Congratulations to Chuck!

Congrats to Steve. A podium finish for me and a Super Bowl for my beloved Seahawks. Can't complain!!

barrysloate 02-03-2014 04:20 AM

Congratulations to Wolf for not only winning but guessing the point total exactly. Amazing!

And a big Net54 round of applause for Frank, who did a great job keeping track of everything.

wolf441 02-03-2014 08:24 AM

Thanks to Frank for running a great pool all the way through!!

And for the record, that's the first time that I've even come close to winning one of these things. I guess even a broken clock is right twice a day!! :D

frankbmd 02-03-2014 08:32 AM

A Photo Finish

I would add that had Denver kicked an extra point, Scott would have won and hit the point total on the nose. I guess Peyton and the Broncos just wanted to keep the game close.:D:D:D

I would also add that my first ten picks were legitimate and largely incorrect, but I did think that Seattle would win the big game and picked Denver to preserve my last place finish.;)

...and don't forget the other plot twist: I actually guessed 51, not knowing that Steve had already chosen it, and you made me change my number.

Scott, I didn't make you do anything except follow the rules as stated, if you wanted a valid entry. ;):D:D:D

peterose4hof 02-03-2014 10:10 AM

Congrats to Steve for being the big winner! Steve, I hope you're a betting man and have a large sum of money coming your way (in addition to the fantastic net54 shirt).

Frank, congrats on your big "win" as well! Please pm me your mailing address and I will mail your horse's rear trophy asap. Really looking forward to seeing the picture you post with it!

barrysloate 02-11-2014 02:22 PM

It's half an ass Frank. Well done!:)

Leon 02-11-2014 02:57 PM

Frank- That is freaking great.

And btw, the winning shirt was shipped today. Congrats to the winner and a big thanks to Frank for doing this.

vintagetoppsguy 12-30-2014 02:47 PM

Are we going to do a playoff pool this year?

Runscott 12-30-2014 03:34 PM

If I finish second again, can I have half a t-shirt? :o

barrysloate 12-30-2014 05:25 PM

Hey guys- Frank kept track of the standings last year but unfortunately can't this year as he will be traveling during the first two weeks of the playoffs. I will also be away for most of January and February. So if you want to do a pool this year, you need to find someone new to run it and keep up the weekly entries.

The rules are simple, with each succeeding week's games holding greater value. We used the 1-2-3-5 point system, with the Superbowl worth 5. But whoever does it can set his own rules.

I may still play as I will have an Ipad with me, but won't have the time to do all the work involved. Hope somebody else goes with it.
