No need to do so. Roberto was my favorite player but I collect his entire early 1970s crew.

Howard, these are roughly evenly split, no?
(I agree w/ you it would have been nice if TPGs kept track of them and considered them a variation of each other.)

Not sure if I'm remembering correctly, but I believe the 180 back is much tougher. Anyone out there confirm that?

180

Yes 180 is tougher

Thought I would share a couple of original slides shot by James Drake of Sports Illustrated. I picked up these last week.

Great slides Mike! Are those from “soxphotos”?

Not sure if this was posted by Howard before, but this is a new pickup for me. Was definitely a tough one for me to find.

Well,

That is NOT a 1958. It is however a 1957! Both of those issues are incredibly difficult, but neither as difficult as the elusive 1956. See attached scans of the 3 (1956 batting pose, 1958 close up Portrait). A complete shame(sham) that PSA will not recognize/holder the 1956.

Thanks for the correction Howard, I changed the date.

Yes they are from soxphofos. I have picked up a number of very attractive images from him and i am going to make a few high quality giclee prints of a couple to frame. Those Jay Publishing cards are beautiful. I'm glad I generally limit my efforts to Clemente items manufactured between 1970 to 1973. That being said I was tempted by the Clemente Tuscany Statue in the most recent Lelands auction. I'm sure I will regret not bidding more for it.

I did recently pick up a 1971 team photo pennant. I had no idea one existed so I was both happy and surprised by the opportunity to add one to my collection. It has condition issues but I am pleased nonetheless. It is the same format as the 1970 and 1973 versions of the same. I will post it when I have it in hand so it can be added to the list.
