What is the fugliest card in your collection?
This grotesque thing floated around ebay for two years. I bid 4 times. The 3rd time it was up I bid $90 and lost. The 4th time I won it for about $75. E107s definitely have value no matter how bad, but still I'm tempted to crack it out and soak it in carburetor cleaner or gasoline. There is a thread up now about GAI grading. I think "Poor" was generous.

That's a great price for an E107. This is probably my uglylist card right now.

Hey John...
I think you misread the title of the thread ;)

I wouldn't kick any of them out of bed so far. Well, maybe Waddell, but he ate crackers in bed. Gotta agree John's doesn't qualify for ugly.
|
About 20 years ago we got a new puppy. He managed to get at my cards and chewed up 2 or 3. One just so happened to be a 1956 Topps Ted Williams in Ex condition. I was sick, but it was my fault. It almost looked as bad as Waddell. Well, maybe half as bad. I sold it on ebay a couple of years ago for $19 and the guy tried to flip it the next week. He got $14.

John--a win-win situation. The card still looks great and a mouse got a good meal.

Not a bad fugly card to have as a Phillies collector...

I hate the Phillies, but that is a great card!

Actually I hate the Phils of today and the last 30 years. Three of my favorites of all time are John Titus, Sherry Magee, and Grover Alexander. Eccentric. Being strange myself, I can appreciate.

I posted a scan of my fugly T206 Joe Kelley in another similar thread maybe a month or two ago.
It elicted a few biohazard comments...in fact I think our friend Chris Browne is still itching just from viewing the scan. I won't repost the scan for medical reasons. Boys we got us some fugly here:eek: Keep 'em coming! |

I had some 1990-1 Donruss, and those are my benchmark for cheap, ugly cards. The stock seemed like Kinko's cover paper.

You definitely have to take what you get with some issues:

Not Complaining! It's an Old Put Back!
2 Attachment(s)
Yes it's really hideous, but I'm not complaining. It's the only Blue Old Put Back E98 I have ever owned, and 1 of only 5 Blue Backgrounded E98s with an Old Put Overprint that I know of to exist!
All of our "Uglies" are about 100 years old, so they [I]should [I] look beat up! I love them all!;) Tim Kindler |

I ain't taken the cake here, but I got some Fuglys.
I think the caramel is the only thing holding this one together. And, Now that's a CREASE! The others speak for themselves. |
well...
my primary set is SGC40, so no fugliness there. This one is in my 'name on top' collection:

Just returned this one to my collection:
<a href="https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/photo/MHcUzD8wxQcF7i__Kzsj54RT3dysq2WPtX5u9gk-z0Y?feat=embedwebsite"><img src="https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-8m292Z0vs0k/UTC5OZVdHoI/AAAAAAAAQ6c/J4a63bkcRSs/s800/T205_Doyle_PSA_DNA.jpg" height="674" width="800" /></a> |
The only Goudey I saved from the Lipset set I bought last Spring.
I know it's a hi-res scan, but I really am not trying to encourage anyone from the ohio/kentucky border area to use this as the cornerstone to creating a new set of '33 Goudey forgeries. If anyone really wants a forgery of this card, I'll make you one. |

Filled a gaping hole in the HOF collection. It's in two totally separate pieces! Someday, I may have it rebacked.

Shown way too many times, but it fits the thread...
Just about every technical flaw on this one. Crease? Check. Paper Loss? Check. Pinhole? Check. Non-factory cut on bottom left corner? Check Scrapbook paper on back? Check http://photos.imageevent.com/ltsgall...%20SGC%20A.jpghttp://photos.imageevent.com/ltsgall...20A%20back.jpg |

One of my favorite ugly (I assume that is what fugly stands for, right?)
2 Attachment(s)
This one is not only missing chunks, but is in two pieces (maybe three...I can't remember if the bottom left corner is detached as well). I scanned the card while in its sleeve, so as to not deal with Mr. Evers disintergrating during sleeve removal.
