Yours is just as nice. Thanks for posting such a beautiful card. I know there are some other outstanding ones that others will post too.

Deep Red and Orange

As the Boy Scouts preach...be prepared. It is handy to have a scan of T206 heads lying around. These happen to be red and orange backgrounds.

Just faint paper loss on the back.

A few of my favorites... Walsh being my most favorite, of all...

This is my favorite among the Providence players. The red background really pops in high grades.

Picked this one up at the 1985 National at the Disneyland Hotel when I was 17.

Without the slab, of course.

Set me back $30, which was the most I had ever paid for a card.

Good investment Scott! I mean that card has to be at worth at least $45 today. ;) Let me know if you ever want to sell/trade it.

I really think that blue Hal Chase may be the best looking card in the whole set. Any idea as to why so few Blue Portraits?

That is a very good question....and, here is my take on why there are so few Dark Blue portrait Major Leaguers in the T206 set.

The 150 Series comprises of most of the Portrait subjects (59). But, only the Waddell portrait in this Series was printed with a Dark Blue background.

When you get into the 350 & 460 Series, the majority of the subjects are action poses. Here are the few Dark Blue portraits of the Major Leaguers....

Barry (A's)
Chase (portrait)
Dygert
Knight (portrait)
Krause (portrait)
Murray (portrait)

The Minor Leaguers, though, in the 350 series include these subjects with dark Blue portraits.....

Batch
Brain
Dessau
Malarkey
Nattress
Quillen
Schlafly
Schreck
Thielman

Many of the ones I have are already posted, so I'll share one of my other ones. My favorite Southern Leaguer. For sheer eye appeal, I think it compares to the Johnson.

Thanks for the compliment.

I still need to find the Carolina Brights card.
Actually I have a nice Carolina Brights of the other Chase in the Super-Print group.

Also, I need a Drum to complete this run. The Drum has not yet to be confirmed with the blue Chase card.
But, I expect that eventually a Drum will surface. Then I will have to compete with several Net54er's for it.
