1971 Sport Arts Ltd. Poster

Hello everyone,

Anyone have any idea on rarity and values of these 11 x 14 inch thick board posters?

Brooklyn based they made them for the 4 major sports about 200 players but other than that a blank…

Thanks!https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...c8056f4641.jpg

I'm interested in learning more about these as well. I have a Phil Esposito that is landscape. Tim, I'm also interested in how you identified the company that made them. Thanks.

They seem identical to what TCDB lists as 1972 Stadium Arena cards, which are also on thick 11x14 poster boards. I have 4 of those, including Wilt Chamberlain and one that's not listed on TCDB so their checklist is definitely incomplete. There are also a few listed on eBay right now, but mostly baseball (there is a Wilt available for $89). Are these the same as the Sport Arts poster boards or just something similar?

They look the same though mine are black and white. The order form I have pictured seems to be an in stock list as it skips numbers. Are your all on it?

I can barely make out the names on that checklist picture. I think I see Wilt Chamberlain on there though. I also have Lenny Wilkins, Gail Goodrich, and Johnny Neumann.

Also, the Wilt Chamberlain that's for sale on eBay right now is listed as a 1972 Arena Stadium card produced by Sport Arts Inc. It's in color not B&W. Not sure what that means but it suggests they're the same.

Only Wilt and Wilkens are on this list.

Also it seems this was only a NY Metro availability. On the order form you could only order out of town players. Local NY players you could purchase at your local dealer. They cost $1.00 each at the time....

'Gunner' Johnny Newmann was one of the early great 3 point shooters. I saw him coach the Bay State Bombadiers in the CBA. Season ticket holder for a few years. I saw his teams play against the Cazzie Russell coached Lancaster Lightning with John Lucas and the Phil Jackson coached Albany Patroons. Jackson's first pro championships were in the CBA.

Thanks for the stories, I didn't know he coached. Terry Pluto's book, "Loose Balls," has some fun stories about Johnny Neumann as well...
