Upcoming changes to card listings on eBay

Anyone who sells on eBay get notified about these upcoming changes?

Fun. Thanks for sharing.

I didn't see an email from eBay on this point, although it's possible I received it but ignored it.

It does seem like the updates will be helpful to add meaningful information, and should eliminate some of the nonsensical noise around listings, like the old data point identifying whether a card is new or used.

They've done this already in the UK.

My only complaint is that there's only 4 conditions according to Ebay (poor, VG, excellent, NM).

I did not see that. But I do tend to ignore their messages because there is nothing I can do about it.
Ebay is always looking for ways to make it harder to list for the seller.

Considering every single beautiful card I send off to be graded depressingly comes back a VG 4, three of those four choices are wasted.

I ran into this while posting a card last night. The choices and descriptions make no sense. Clearly someone with no card experience came up with these.

VG "grade"

Their description of the VG grade is nonsensical. On the other hand as they have forced me into 'their way' of how cards must be listed/graded described/prescribed, re-assessed yet a second time by their third party
experts, and re-shipped a second time unneccesarily after their scrutiny and
golden stamp of authenticity to slow even just 1 transaction to a slow crawl. oh the joy!

That being said, maybe this new 1-4 grading system is the least of the weird things they've done to alienate both buyer and seller on their platform.

Whatever. I delisted all the cards over $250 so I dont have to deal with their BS
and I'll delete the VG listings so I dont have to deal with their BS, problem solved

From what I can remember, this was the card grading scale back in the 70’s.
