c. 1910 Photo and Stadium Help

Hi Guys

I normally consider myself decent at this, but I am at a loss on this photo. I was told it was Cobb sliding which may or may not be true, but I am more interested to identify the stadium and catcher (maybe socks would help) to see if this is even possible. Any thoughts? I appreciate the responses and time in advance.

Wow!

Regardless of origin or subjects it's an amazing shot. Body type looks like Cobb but knowing his ferocity it makes more sense if his spikes were plunging into that catcher blocking the plate. I'm amazed that the runner slid that far to the left in that day and age!

So cool! Thanks for sharing and good luck on getting info!

The signs may not help. The one on the left, which is permanent, says 'Popcorn Nuggets'. The one on the right is canvas or cloth draped over the wall. The third and fourth words on the top line are 'General Assembly'.

Something Bresnahanesque with the 1908 looking NYG socks/uni and those reeded shin guards. Can't find anything definitive though.

Can't speak on whether it's Cobb or not, but that's most likely early Fenway--maybe even its opening year.

Breshnahan was my initial thought also. The catchers gear and socks in this photo appear to be close to those depicted in the photo in question.

Found this picture on Google. Fenway 1912

Yes. Fenway Park had that gap down the right field line. The Red Sox Socks at the time are a match also.

Fenway appears to be correct. The stands with the canvas banner appear to have been built in front of the wall to the left of the dugout. The ironwork along the roof edge looks the same.

I very much appreciate the help. I was told it was c. 1908-1910 so was pigeon holed into that era and didn't think to consider Fenway. I appreciate the help, it is a great to have the location if nothing else!

If this is Fenway it cannot be Cobb as he would have worn a black cap in an away game. The runner pictured has a white cap.

Fenway
