P.P.A.A. Pennants

Hi-

I recently acquired a large lot of vintage pennants and some of the ones with PPAA on them are shown below. Has anyone heard of PPAA in relationship to anything that might display a pennant? There are 30+ PPAA pennants in the lot I bought (30.00 at Brimfield) along with another 10-15 New York, Pennsylvania, Maine, Canada, and Florida pennants. The PPAA pennants range from 1927-1996. I think the dealer was from Pennsylvania or New York.

I was hoping a quick Google search would help me, but I have been trying combinations of PPAA and 1927 (and other years) and I cannot figure out any group with those initials that might display a pennant (or even any group at all that ranges over the years I have pennants for with those initials). I was originally thinking it was an athletic association but I figure that would have come up in my searches.

Does anyone have any information about what PPAA might stand for? I can post pictures of the other PPAA pennants and banners if it helps.

First things that come to mind for the A A are athletic association and automobile association, although you probably already thought of them.

PP = Police Protective (Association)?

Pittsburgh Pa Athletic Association? Or Philly?

Hi

I googled "PPAA Organization" and I could not get anything to help

I got these and I cannot envision them having pennants

Thank you guys! I really appreciate your help and suggestions. Here are pictures of the rest of the years. It looks like they went to homemade fairly early. I like the 1976 one the best.

It kind of does but, then again, the whole country was pretty caught up in the Bicentennial.
