The main thing I got from that quiz is that Billy Wagner was pretty good.

Took several tries but got in and based on the results I know less now than I thought I knew before

John1941 04-06-2022 01:34 PM

I got 24/36, but I was helped by the Billy Wagner hint.

There were a few where I was surprised the right answer was someone from the last decade or two.

Amazing how new things happen in baseball all the time.

I got to see him pitch for the Tucson Toros in the PCL when they were in town playing the Sky Sox. He had a freaking rocket for an arm and very good control. You could tell he was not gonna be very long for AAA baseball. At that time he was in the rotation as a starting pitcher and not a reliever.

He moved to relief pitching full time when he got the called up to the Astros in 96.

Did absolutely awful, but I did notice that George is a bit off of his game (pun intended). Notice something wrong with this question?

Verlander is not in the Hall of Fame (yet).

Well that was an interesting quiz.

I missed the two McCarver Uecker questions, I got them backwards.

And I finally learned to answer "Wagner"...

Thanks for posting that.

I discovered how little I thought I knew. I got 14/36.
Cannot show my kids or they may make me study more :D
