I'm a hillbilly and my grammar reflects it, but why is it that all scams on ebay look like they're written by a nine year old with a poor education? Who buys from these people?

Peter_Spaeth 09-30-2014 05:23 PM

Expensive reprint.

Curious if it is a fake psa holder or a phony card re slabbed with a real psa holder or a photocopied psa slip?

eBay has a policy that the seller cannot disclaim knowledge of authenticity of the item for sale. In other words, sellers don't necessarily need to get their merchandise graded or authenticated, but they must know what they are selling. It used to be that a seller could indicate "authentic" or "reprint" by checking one of the little option boxes. Several years ago eBay introduced a third box, "unknown." This option obviously opens up a can of worms because it flies in the face as a direct contradiction to that seller non-disclaimer policy. I spoke with them about it more than once and was told that they would pass that information along at their next meeting. eBay probably likes the new option as a liability loophole because ostensibly they no longer have to warrant that ALL merchandise is authentic unless otherwise stated.

its getting ridiculous...you just send in fake mantle to psa..and sell it and make 200..

that the quickest way to make 200 in baseball card collection i have seen but bidding isnt over...

this is BS on psa's part...they and all other grading co's should say fake...not questionable authenticuty.

mantle psa ? authority

i notice people on ebay like to gamble....against the odds

fake possibel mantles or raw cards from established dealers who we all know the dealers would of sent in to psa if it was worth it..yet they get psa 6-7 value on some raw cards

same thing as the unopened packs..several packs are really already opened so you lose on that gamble..and the ones that are truly unopened you paying 10x then the actual changes..thus you basically paying 10x SMR for the chance to beat the odds..but in long run much more money for the seller on all the packs that dont beat the odds.

i think you can basially buy one psa 5 mantle for 29.99k...and ten dollars for 4999 commons you .and do a treasure hunt for the mantle a total of 100 packs 50 cards in a pack..charge 400 for the chance for the 30k mantle and you just made 10k ..you get the idea...legalized 'non gambling'... ebay people like to gamble ..like most people that like sports..

who wants to go in business.....

also would be interesting in knowing who actually gets the high value cards.....friend of a friend of a relative?
