Book Recommendation: Inventing Baseball, 100 Greatest Games of 19th Century

I'm recommending that those that have interest in 19th century baseball pick-up, "Inventing Baseball: The 100 Greatest Games of the Nineteenth Century." The book provides at least 3 pages dedicated to each game, each with a photo (many with team photos) and box scores.

It's a SABR publication, so the accuracy and depth of the research is second to none.

You can purchase the book directly on the SABR site here:

Disclaimer: One of my photos was used for the book but I get zero benefit from its sale.

Enjoy!

Index

I like the way they set up the Index, by player, team, and subject. It makes for an informative quick reference guide. For example, if you look up Gillespie, you can quickly go to the page that highlights a game in 1885 where he batted clean-up behind Ewing. Or you can look up Athletics, and it will direct you to all the stories that mention that team. Great resource.
